Installation and operation
WARNING
Do not exceed lowest pressure rating of
any component in system.
Failure to comply may result in
serious injury or death.
WARNING
Do not operate pump with broken,
missing or defective parts.
Replace defective parts prior to
operation.
Failure to comply may result in
serious injury or death.
NOTE
Refer to Fig. IPB 1, page 15 for
component identification for installation
and operation.
Bench test and
operation
Initial prime
1 Place pump in fluid to be dispensed.
2 Connect a product hose to pump's fluid
outlet. Direct hose into an appropriate
collection container.
3 Apply threadlocker to screw adapter (2)
and screw into inlet of air motor.
4 Apply threadlocker to screw valve (3) and
screw into adapter (2).
5 Screw adapter (4) onto valve.
Tighten securely.
6 Install air coupler (5) onto air supply line.
7 Make sure air pressure reads zero.
8 Connect air coupler to adapter.
9 Slowly supply air pressure to pump's
motor.
10 Allow pump to cycle slowly until fluid is
free of air.
If pump does not prime, refer to
Troubleshooting (page 13) for details.
Starting pressure
11 Set air pressure to 30 psi (2.1 bars).
12 Insert adjustment bar into one of the
holes in packing screw (9).
13 Adjust packing screw until pump stops.
14 Loosen packing screw until pump begins
to cycle.

Leakage and stall
WARNING
Do not operate air motor that leaks.
Disconnect air from motor.
Failure to comply may result in death
or serious injury.
With air pressure at zero:
15 Attach a control valve to outlet hose of
pump. Make sure nozzle on control valve
is open.
16 Slowly supply air pressure to pump's
motor.
17 Allow pump to cycle slowly until fluid is
once again free of air.
18 Set air pressure to normal operating
pressure.
19 Operate control valve into a container.
20 Shut off control valve.
21 Visually inspect pump for external leaks.
22 Pump should not cycle more than once
or twice in one hour.
If pump leaks or does not stall, refer to
Troubleshooting (page 13) for details.
23 Check motor for air leaks.
If motor leaks, refer to manual 397873 for
details.
