Functions
1. Tests BNC, F, RJ11, RJl 2 and RJ45 cables.
2. Tests double-twisted cables (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and G) and identifies wrong
connection, short circuit and open circuit.
BNCIF Testing Procedures
1. For BNC cable testing, connect the BNC cable to the female (F) connector on the
main tester, then connect the other end to the BNC terminator. The BNC
terminator and the main tester's B/F light will illuminate green, indicating proper
function.
2. For F cable testing, connect the BNC (M-F) adapters to the BNC female (F)
connector on the main tester and the BNC terminator. Then connect the F cable
to the tester and terminator. The BNC terminator and the main tester's B/F light
will illuminate green, indicating proper function.
Double-Twisted Cable Testing Procedures
1. Switch on the power. ("S" is slow automatic grade. "M" is manual.)
2. Insert cables into main tester and remote tester. The main tester lights will
illuminate sequentially from 1 to G.
Main Tester:
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G
Remote Tester: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G ..........RJ45
1-2-3-4-5-6 ......................RJ12
1-2-3-4 .............................RJ11
Abnormal Connections
1. While testing a cable (for example, Pin No. 3 has an open circuit) the main and
remote tester will not light up.
2. If two ends of a cable are out of order (for example, Pins No. 2 and No. 4), the
tester will display the following:
Main Tester:
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G
Remote Tester: 1-4-3-2-5-6-7-8-G
3. If the cable has a short circuit, the main tester lights will remain sequentially on
and the remote tester lights will remain off.
