OPERATION
SANDING
See Figure 10, page 11.
Install the detail sanding backing pad and attach desired
sandpaper. Hold tool in front and away from you, keeping
it clear of the workpiece. Start the tool and let the motor
build to its full speed, then gradually lower on the workpiece
with a slight forward movement. Move the tool slowly over
workpiece using forward and backward or side to side
strokes. Upon completion of sanding operation, always
remove tool from workpiece before turning it off.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
When servicing use only identical replacement
parts. Use of any other parts can create a hazard
or cause product damage.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use
clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.

Do no t fo rce. Apply light pressure when sanding. Let the
sandpaper and tool do the work. Applying additional pres-
sure only slows the motor, rapidly wears sandpaper, and
greatly reduces tool speed. Excessive pressure will overload
the motor causing possible damage from motor overheating
and can result in inferior work. Any finish or resin on wood
may soften from the frictional heat. Do not allow sanding
on one spot too long as tool's rapid action may remove too
much material, making the surface uneven.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline,
petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc.,
come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can
damage, weaken or destroy plastic which can
result in serious personal injury.
