- Fig. 11: Open the fuel shutoff.
- Fig. 12: Move the ignition switch to the "I" position.
- Fig. 13: Close the choke lever:
- If the engine is cold or the ambient temperature is
low the choke lever will need to be fully closed.
- If the engine is hot or the ambient temperature is
high then the choke lever will need to be fully
opened.
- Fig. 14: Pull the left-hand switch lever (emergency
stop) "8" and hold it in that position – otherwise it will
not be possible to start the engine.
- Fig. 15: Slowly pull out the starter handle until a
resistance is felt. This indicates that the correct
compression pressure has been reached. Then
return the starter handle to its starting position and
pull it out in a sudden, swift motion. In the process,
do not pull the cable all the way out. Once the engine
has started, allow the starter handle to slide back into
its starting position (keep hold of the switch lever
(emergency stop) "8" in the process).
- Fig. 13: Once the engine has been started, turn the
choke lever and gradually open it, until it is fully open.
If the engine is cold or the ambient temperature is
low, the engine might stall if the choke lever is
immediately opened right up.
Allow the engine to idle for a few minutes until it has
warmed up. Lightly press on the accelerator lever "9".

Working with the scarifier

Please
pay
special
information.
- Move the scarifier into position on the area to be
treated.
- Use the grips on the handle to keep firm control of
the scarifier.
- Pull the accelerator lever on the handle.
- The scarifier shaft is automatically set in motion by
means of a centrifugal clutch.
- To stop, change direction or reverse the scarifier let
go of the accelerator lever.
The scarifier shaft is automatically disconnected from
the drive by the centrifugal clutch.
While working with the scarifier, always ensure that
sufficient cooling air and air for combustion can be
sucked in without obstruction (for example, leaves
can block the intake ducts). Also ensure that the
exhaust is not obstructed.
Finishing work / taking a break
When you have finished scarifying, allow the machine
to idle for 1 or 2 minutes

resistance is felt. This is necessary to ensure that no
damp air can enter the combustion chamber from
outside.
Clean the scarifier – and the scarifier shaft in
particular – after every use.
