Cleaning the Deck [72]
During use, the heads, capstan and pinchroller of the
tape deck pick up small particles and dust from the
tape. If these particles are permitted to accumulate,
they can have a detrimental effect on both recording
and playback performance. It is therefore recommended
that the parts be kept clean at all times. A cotton-tipped
stick moistened in good quality alcoho! or commercial-
ly available head cleaning fluid is best for this purpose.
Generally, the heads, capstan and pinchroller should be
cleaned at least once for every 50 hours use, or twice a
month.
