Watch the following safety instructions before starting to clean the unit:
• Switch the unit off before cleaning and pull the power cord from the electric
socket.
• Let the unit cool down before cleaning.
• Use a soft and moist cloth to clean the outer surfaces of the unit. Use a mild de-

DESCALING
Descale the unit in regular intervals. This will extend the service life of your unit.
How often you must descale the unit depends on the water hardness in your area.
If you have very hard water (above 26° dH) and drink coffee very often, we recom-
mend that you descale the unit every two to three weeks.
IMPORTANT!
We accept no liability for missing or insufficient decalcification.
In this case, the warranty will become null and void.
You can descale the unit using any household descaling agent. Observe the manu-
facturer's instructions and comply with the operating manual.
Note: Pour water into the tank up to the 6 / 9 cup marking.
Put in a filter bag so that lime residues are absorbed therein.
• Put the insulated coffee pot below the coffee filter.
• Switch the unit on.
• Let the liquid flow through.
• Dispose of the filter bag after completion of the operation and pour out the de-
calcification mixture.
• The unit switches Off.
• Now rinse the machine with clear water. Pour cold, clear water into the water
tank up to the 6 / 9 cup marking.
• Put the insulated coffee pot below the coffee filter.
