Using and handling the rechargeable
tool
a) Only charge the batteries with battery chargers
recommended by the manufacturer. A battery
charger that is suitable for a particular type of bat-
tery poses a fire hazard when used with other bat-
teries.
b) Only use the batteries in power tools that are
designed for them. The use of other batteries can
lead to injuries and a risk of fire.
c) Keep the unused battery away from paper clips,
coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal
objects that could cause a short-circuit between
the contacts. A short-circuit between the contacts
of the battery could result in burns or fires.
d) Liquid may leak from the battery if used incor-
rectly. Avoid contact with it. In case of acciden-
tal contact, rinse with water. If the liquid gets in-
to your eyes, seek additional medical attention.
Leaking battery fluid may cause skin irritation or
burns.
e) Do not use a damaged or modified battery. Dam-
aged or modified batteries can behave unpredict-
ably and cause fire, explosion or injury.
f) Do not expose a battery to fire or excessive tem-
peratures. Fire or temperatures above 130°C may
cause an explosion.
g) Follow all charging instructions and never
charge the battery or rechargeable tool outside
the temperature range specified in the operating
manual. Incorrect charging or charging outside the
approved temperature range can destroy the bat-
tery and increase the risk of fire.
Additional safety instructions
• Before commissioning, ensure that the mains volt-
age matches with the operating voltage and the ma-
chine's power rating on the type plate.
Safety instructions for battery charger
ATTENTION
Observe the safety instructions and notes in the oper-
ating instructions of all compatible products you use.
• This product can be used by children from 8 years
of age as well as by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or with a lack of ex-
perience or knowledge, if they are supervised or if
they have been trained in the safe use of the
product and understand the resultant hazards. Chil-
dren may not play with the device. Cleaning and us-
er maintenance must not be carried out by children
unsupervised.
Safety instructions for drills
1) Safety instructions for all work
a) When performing work during which the tool at-
tachment or the screws can meet with con-
cealed power lines or its own connection cable,
hold the electric tool by the insulated gripping
surfaces. Contact with a live wire may make ex-
posed metal parts of the power tool live and could
give the operator an electric shock.
2) Safety instructions when using a long drill
a) Never work at a speed that is higher than the
maximum permissible speed for the drill. At
higher speeds, the drill can easily twist if it is able to
turn freely without contact with the workpiece, and
cause injuries.
b) Always start drilling at a lower speed and once
contact has been established between the drill
and the workpiece. At higher speeds, the drill can
easily twist if it is able to turn freely without contact
with the workpiece, and cause injuries
c) Never apply excessive pressure and only in the
longitudinal direction to the drill. Drills can twist
and this can cause the drill to break, or lead to a
loss of control and to injuries.
Safety instructions for screw drivers
• Wear hearing protection when impact screwing.
Excessive noise can result in a loss of hearing.
• Secure the workpiece. A workpiece held with a
clamping device or bench vice is held more secure-
ly than with your hand.
• Hold the electric tool firmly. When tightening and
undoing screws, high reaction torques may occur
for a short time.
• Wait until the electrical tool has come to a
standstill before setting it down. The tool attach-
ment can get caught and this can lead to loss of
control over the electric tool.
• Hold the device by the insulated gripping sur-
faces when carrying out work where the screw
or the tool attachment may hit hidden power
lines. Contact between the screw or tool attach-
ment and a live power line can also electrify metal
device parts and lead to an electric shock.
Residual risks
The product has been built according to state-of-
the-art and the recognised technical safety rules.
However, individual residual risks can arise during
operation.
• Damage to hearing if the stipulated hearing protec-
tion is not worn.
• Residual risks can be minimised if the "Safety In-
structions" and the "Intended Use" together with the
operating manual as a whole are observed.
