Warning!
Do not operate the Atago gas barbecue in closed and/or habitable rooms, e.g.
buildings, tents, pavilions, caravans, mobile homes, boats. Only use outdoors!
Warning!
The Petromax Atago gas barbecue must not be moved during operation. After
lighting, do not move the Atago gas barbecue as the liquid gas could flow from
the gas container into the appliance and cause a flash fire.
Accessible parts can be very hot. Use heat protection gloves to protect against
burns.
Keep small children away from the Atago gas barbecue.
3.1 Instructions for handling liquid gas valve cartridges
Avoid violence and mechanical damage! Gas can escape and explosive air-gas mixtures can occur. In
addition, escaping liquid gas can cause cold burns to the skin.
Protect from heat (sunlight).
Protect the liquid gas cartridge from heating! At higher temperatures, especially
when exposed to fire, there is a risk of uncontrolled gas leakage or even bursting
of the cartridge.
3.2 In the event of faults and leaks
Liquid gas (propane, butane and their mixtures) is an extremely flammable, colourless gas with a per-
ceptible odour. It is heavier than air and can ignite even when only slightly mixed with the surrounding
air. Uncontrolled escaping gas can deflagrate or explode.
In the event of faults and leaks where you can hear or smell gas escaping, turn off the gas regulator
immediately and check for leaks (see chapter 7).
If the burner goes out, turn the regulator to the right. After a
few minutes, the gas will have completely escaped and you
can switch the gas barbecue back on. However, the barbecue
may be hot!
Carbon monoxide poisoning!
Risk of burns!
