PicoScope 3000E Series oscilloscopes
Note: If you move your oscilloscope to a different USB port at any point, the installation process
may be repeated.

External power supply
The PicoScope software will notify you if the USB-C AC power adaptor is required.
3.4
Running the PicoScope software
Once you have connected the oscilloscope, start the PicoScope software. Signals connected to
the scope inputs should now be displayed. If you touch a connected probe's tip with your 昀椀nger,
you should see a small 50 or 60 Hz signal in the oscilloscope window.

Green - USB-C data port is connected.
Red - Only the 5 V power port is connected.

Blue 昀氀ashing - Temperature warning. Ensure the operating environment is within

the speci昀椀cations and ventilation is not obstructed. If the temperature increases
further, the unit will shut down.

Status/trigger LED (

Green - while data capturing is in progress. Other colours are shown if the
oscilloscope remains in the following states for an extended interval:

Red - waiting for trigger event
•
Yellow - capturing pre-trigger data
•
Blue - transferring captured waveforms over USB
Auxiliary trigger input/output ( ) — BNC (f). As an input, allows you to trigger the scope,

or arbitrary waveform generator, from an external source. As an output, generates a pulse
each time the oscilloscope triggers.
Arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) output ( ) — BNC(f). Do not apply an external

voltage to this output.
