7. Before you start
7.1 Unpacking
•
Remove the product from the packaging.
•
Completely remove all packaging materials and labels.
•
Check the packaging for any missing contents. Please contact Customer Service immediately
if any items are missing.
7.2 Mounting
•
Plug the connector [7] on the thermostat [2] into the socket [4].
8. Getting started
8.1 Initial operation
•
When you use it for the first time, do not place any food on the grill plate [6].
•
Plug the mains plug into an easily accessible mains socket.
•
Turn the temperature controller [8] clockwise as far as it will go (highest setting). The
indicator light [9] now comes on and the grill heats up to the maximum temperature. As soon
as the grill reaches the temperature set, the indicator light [9] goes out.
•
Allow the grill to heat up for approx. 15 minutes. When you use it for the first time, smells or
slight smoke may develop. This is normal and perfectly safe. Open a window to ensure
sufficient ventilation.
•
Turn the temperature controller [8] anticlockwise as far as it will go in order to switch off the
grill.
•
Unplug the power plug from the mains socket and allow the grill to cool completely.
•
Clean the grill as described in the chapter on "Cleaning".
8.2 Grilling
Put a little heat-resistant oil on the grill plate [6], if required. This prevents food sticking to the
grill plate [6].
The grill plate [6] is split into two different surfaces. The smooth surface is used for frying
and should be used if you want the greatest possible contact area to the food to be grilled.
The ribbed surface is for grilling and can be used to give a grill pattern to food and reduce
the fat in cooking.
•
Plug the mains plug into an easily accessible mains socket.
•
Make sure that the grease collection tray [5] is seated correctly under the grill plate [6].
