The term "product" in this document refers to the unit or its accessories.
CAUTION
Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
Dispose of used batteries according to local rules and regulations.
The nameplate and important information concerning safety are attached in the following locations:
• the inner surface of the cap on the rear side of the unit
Do not install the product in a confined space, such as a bookcase or built-in cabinet.
Install the unit so that the power cord can be unplugged from the wall socket immediately in the event
of trouble.
The unit is not disconnected from the AC power source (mains) as long as it is connected to the wall
outlet, even if the unit itself has been turned off.
Do not expose the batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) to excessive heat, such as sunshine, fire
or the like, for a long time.
To reduce the risk of fire, do not cover the ventilation opening of the unit with newspapers, tablecloths,
curtains, etc. Do not expose the unit to naked flame sources (for example, lighted candles).
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this product to dripping or splashing, and do
not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the product.
This product has magnet(s) which may interfere with pacemakers, programmable shunt valves for
hydrocephalus treatment, or other medical devices. Do not place this product close to persons who use
such medical devices. Consult your doctor before using this product if you use any such medical device.
Inserting the USB plug or AC plug while it is wet may cause a short circuit due to foreign matter or liquid
(tap water, seawater, soft drinks, etc.) getting on the main unit or charging cable.
This may cause malfunctions or abnormal overheating.
Never insert the USB plug or AC plug while the main unit or charging cable is wet.
The unit is not waterproof. If water or foreign matter enters the unit, it may result in fire or electric shock.
If water or foreign matter enters the unit, stop use immediately and consult your nearest Sony dealer. In
particular, be careful in the following cases.
• When using the unit near a sink or liquid container
Be careful that the unit does not fall into a sink or container filled with water.
• When using the unit in the rain or snow, or in humid locations
• When using the unit while you are perspiring
If you touch the unit with wet hands, the unit may get wet.

Precautions
On the power cord
• The supplied AC power cord (mains lead) is designed exclusively for this unit. It should not be used in
combination with any other devices.
• Completely disconnect the AC power cord (mains lead) from the AC outlet (mains) if it is not going to
be used for an extended period of time. When unplugging the AC power cord (mains lead), always
grip the plug. Never pull the cord itself.
On placement
• To eliminate the risk of malfunctions, avoid the following locations when placing or leaving this unit.
– A place subject to high temperatures, such as under direct sunlight or lighting equipment, near a
heat source, or in a sauna
– Inside a vehicle with the windows closed (especially in summertime)
– A place exposed to hot air, such as from a hair dryer
• Place this unit on a flat, level surface. When placed on a sloped surface, the unit may fall over or
fall off the surface due to its own vibration, resulting in injuries, malfunctions, or performance
degradation.
• This unit is not anti-magnetic. Keep objects susceptible to magnetism (recorded tapes, watches, cash
cards and credit cards with magnetic coding, etc.) away from the unit. When you carry around the
unit, keep this in mind as well.
How to care for the unit
You can use the unit more comfortably and for a longer period of time by following the maintenance
procedure below.
• If the surface becomes dirty, wipe the surface using a soft, dry cloth or a cloth soaked in water or
lukewarm water and wrung well. Depending on the type of dirt, it may not be possible to remove it.
Note
• If the surface of the unit gets dirty, do not use detergent, thinner, benzine, alcohol, etc. to clean the
unit.
Notes on batteries
• Do not mix an old battery with a new one or mix different type of batteries.
• When you are not going to use the unit for a long time, remove the batteries to avoid damage from
battery leakage and corrosion.
• Check if the batteries are inserted in the correct orientation (+ and -) when the wireless microphone
does not turn on after battery replacement.
• Batteries have a recommended use-by date for proper use. When using expired batteries, battery life
will be extremely short. Check the use-by date on the batteries and if they are expired, replace them
with new ones.
Other notes
• If your skin remains in contact with the handle for a long time while the light is turned on, there is
a risk of low-temperature burns. To carry a speaker while it is powered on, turn the light (lighting
function) off.
• Place the unit in a location with adequate ventilation to prevent heat buildup and prolong the life of
the unit.
• Do not splash water onto this product and the supplied accessories. Those are not waterproof.
• Should any solid object or liquid fall into the unit, unplug the unit and have it checked by qualified
personnel before operating it any further.
• Water resistant performance is improved by the flat top structure of the unit, but this is not
guaranteed for all the situations.
• If you accidentally splash liquid on the unit, wipe it off with a dry cloth immediately.

• The cap plays a very important role in maintenance of the water resistant performance. When using
the unit, make sure that the cap is closed completely.
Cap
• Put your fingertip directly onto the touch sensor for operations.
• Do not operate the touch sensor with a wet hand to avoid a malfunction.
• When the unit's light seems bright or glaring, turn up the room lights or turn off the lighting function.
• If sand or dust adheres to the caster wheels' axles, or grass or lint gets wrapped around them, the
caster wheels may malfunction.
• If you have any questions or problems concerning this unit that are not covered in this manual, please
consult your nearest Sony dealer.
