▷ Drain the machine only via the drain
cock [8] and not through the filling neck
(by turning the machine upside down).
This is the only way to drain the machine
completely.
▷ Open drain cock [8] at the bottom of the
machine.
▷ After completely draining the tank, shut the
drain cock again.
▷ Pour 500 ml (2 bottles) of Kalk-X descaling liq-
uid into the tank and fill up the tank with luke-
warm water.
▷ Allow the descaling solution to sit for at least 1
hour in the tank.
▷ After this period, open the drain cock again and
drain the machine.
▷ Thoroughly flush the tank twice with fresh
water to remove all calcium residue.
▷ Shut the drain cock.
The descaling process is now finished. The
Steamer X3 can be refilled with water again and
the closing lid screwed back on.
Regularly inspect the gasket of the closing
lid when performing the descaling, and
replace the gasket as required (see
section 7.2.2).

7.2.2 Replacing the gasket
In case of leakage around the closing lid [5] and/or
when the gasket is damaged, it must be replaced.
▷ Screw off the closing lid.
▷ Insert a flat tool under the gasket of the closing
lid and carefully pry the gasket out.
▷ Cut up and remove the gasket.
▷ Carefully guide a new gasket over the threads
and work it completely into the groove.
The gasket must be completely seated in
the groove and clear of the threads.
▷ Screw the closing lid back on again.
