Never set the extension resistance to such a high level that full extension of the knee joint
is no longer possible. The flexed joint position will inevitably cause the patient to fall!
The starting point for adjustment is the factory setting of the pneumatics:
Flexion:
turn the valve screw clockwise until you feel
complete turns.
Extension: turn the valve screw clockwise until you feel
complete turns.
*
The screws (E) and (F) should only be turned until slight resistance is felt. While
the screws are fully tightened, do not bend the knee joint as this will damage the
pneumatics.
Individual adjustment of the extension stop
To individually adjust the extension stop, remove the cover from the upper part of the knee
joint. Using a 2 mm allen key carefully turn both set screws (Fig. 4, C) clockwise to the same
degree to ensure an earlier extension stop.
Maintenance and service
Generally, all moveable parts must be inspected visually and for functionality every 6 months;
all non-moveable structural parts every 12 months. For lubrication of the gliding metal-surfaces
of the Knee Joint we recommend the Joint grease Lubricant.
In the event of malfunctions, the product must be sent in for maintenance.
Please note that repairs to the product may solely be performed by Streifeneder ortho.
