Physical Installation
Risk of bodily injury, property damage, or damage to system by pressurized
fluids.
• Do not install this product if incoming water pressure is greater than 75 psi. Serious damage to plumbing can
occur.
• A pressure relief valve rated to handle full pump flow at 75 psi should be installed in the system to prevent per-
sonal injury or property damage.
• Do not use this pump for pumping sea water, beverages, acids, chemical solutions, or any other liquid that pro-
motes corrosion as this can result in damage to the pump.
Risk of damage to pump or other equipment.
• Do not apply power to the system until the pump is primed. Do not run the pump dry, which can cause overheat-
ing and damage the impeller and seals. This will void the warranty.
• Do not use open-style wrenches to loosen plugs. Plugs may become damaged and difficult to remove.
• Support pump and piping when assembling and when installed.
1. Turn off the main water supply and the power at the main breaker.
2. Open a nearby faucet until all the water pressure in the system is released.
3. Modify the existing plumbing as required to allow for
installation of the pump system.
IMPORTANT: Never install a check valve between the
pump and the tank.
• Ensure pipe diameter is not smaller than the suction
tapping.
• Do not reduce the sizes of pipe between the pump and
the water source.
• The pump suction is 1-1/4 inch FNPT and the discharge
is 1 inch FNPT fittings. Install adapters as needed.
• If the pipe is offset from the well, the horizontal offset
suction piping may have to be increased in diameter to
reduce friction loss. Pipe from the pump to the well
should slope downward (about 4 inches to every 10
feet).
• Seal and tighten the threads of the suction and dis-
charge openings on the pump with PTFE tape or
thread compound. Do not over-tighten the connections as this could crack the fittings.
• Make sure all joints are airtight.
• Refer to the graphic for suggested routings.
IMPORTANT: Remove any burrs or shavings from cutting the pipes.
NOTE: Switches are preset at the factory for proper performance and do not usually require
adjustment. If adjustment is necessary, regulate switch according to manufacturer's chart located
in the switch.
