9. Troubleshooting

Fault
Chuck not rotating.
Speed suddenly drops
substantially.
Battery becomes
discharged more quickly
than usual.
Battery not engaging with - Battery locking lugs dirty.
audible click.
Drill or battery getting hot. - Electrical fault.
Bit slipping in chuck.
Belt hook coming off.

10. Disposal

Return waste material for recycling.
Most of the materials from which Hilti power tools are manufactured can be recycled. The materials must be cor-
rectly separated before they can be recycled. In many countries, Hilti has already made arrangements for taking
back your old electric tools for recycling. Please ask your Hilti customer service department or Hilti sales repre-
sentative for further information.
Dispose of the battery in accordance with national regulations or return used batteries to Hilti for recycling.
Only for EU countries
Disposal of electric tools together with household waste is not permissible!
In observance of European Directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its implementation in
accordance with national law, electric tools that have reached the end of their life must be collected separately
and returned to an environmentally compatible recycling facility.

Possible cause
- Battery not fully engaged.
- Battery discharged.
- Electrical fault.
- Battery nearly discharged.
- Battery not in good condition.
- Drill overloaded (limit specified for
application exceeded).
- Bit jamming.
- Chuck insufficiently tightened.
- Hook not correctly attached.
Remedy
- Battery must engage with audible click.
- Battery must be charged
- Contact Hilti Service Centre.
- Replace with a charged battery.
- Charge battery in conditioning mode.
(see Operating Instructions)
- Clean lugs so battery engages with an
audible click.
- Contact Hilti Service Centre if problem
continues.
- Switch drill off immediately.
Remove battery and contact Hilti Service
Centre.
- Use the drill appropriately for the
application.
- Release jammed bit.
- Tighten chuck appropriately.
- Refer to the Operating Instructions.
