User Instructions for All Applications
7021 is a catalog number only. This filter is NIOSH approved as 3M
against certain airborne particles when used with the 7287 or 7289 filter retainer on 7000 series half
facepieces. The 7021 filter has at least 95% filtration efficiency against solid and liquid aerosols that do
not contain oil.
IMPORTANT:
Before use, the wearer must read and understand these
facepiece user instructions. Keep insert for reference. Misuse may result in sickness or death.
Use For:
For do-it-yourself, hobby, and non-regulated applications this product helps reduce exposures to airborne
particles. See assembly and fitting instructions.
Do Not Use For:
Concentrations of contaminants which are immediately dangerous to life and health, are unknown or
when concentrations exceed 10 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) or according to
specific OSHA standards or applicable government regulations, whichever is lower.

Assembly Instructions (must be followed each time filter or cartridge/filter combination is worn)
As N95 filter.
1. Place the filter into the cartridge holder with the printed side
toward the facepiece.
2. Twist the 7289 filter retainer down tightly to hold the filter in place.

User Instructions and the 7000 series half
As cartridge/filter combination.
1. Place the proper chemical cartridge into the cartridge holder. The
arrow on the cartridge will be pointed towards the facepiece.
2. Place the filter on the top of the cartridge with printed side toward
the cartridge.

Place the palm of your hand over the exhalation valve cover and exhale gently. If the facepiece bulges slightly and no air leaks are detected
between your face and the facepiece, a proper fit has been obtained. If face seal air leakage is detected, reposition the respirator on your face
and/or readjust the tension of the elastic straps to eliminate the air leakage. Repeat the above steps until a tight face seal is obtained. If you
cannot achieve a proper fit, DO NOT enter the contaminated area. See your supervisor.
Coloque la palma de la mano sobre la tapa de la válvula de exhalación y exhale suavemente. Si la pieza facial se hincha o pandea levemente y
no se sienten fugas entre la cara y la pieza facial, el ajuste es correcto. Si detecta fugas de aire, vuelva a colocarse el respirador sobre la cara
y/o reajuste la tensión de las correas elásticas para eliminar las fugas. Repita los pasos anteriores hasta lograr un buen ajuste del respirador
sobre su cara. Si no puede lograr un buen ajuste, NO entre al área contaminada. Consulte a su supervisor.
Place the palms of the hands to cover the face of the cartridge or filter. Inhale gently. If you feel the facepiece collapse slightly and pull closer
to your face with no leaks between the face and the facepiece, a proper fit has been obtained. If face seal air leakage is detected, reposition
the respirator on the face and/or readjust the tension of the elastic straps to eliminate the air leakage. Repeat the above steps until a tight face
seal is obtained. If you cannot achieve a proper fit, do not enter the contaminated area. See your supervisor.
Coloque las paimas de las manos sobre los cartuchos o filtros. Inhale suavemente. Si la pieza facial se pandea y hace más presión sobre su
cara y no siente entradas de aire entre la cara y la pieza facial, el ajuste es correcto. Si detecta entradas de aire, vuelva a colocarse el
respirador sobre la cara y/o reajuste la tensión de las correas elásticas para eliminar las entradas de aire. Repita los pasos anteriores hasta
lograr un buen ajuste del respirador sobre la cara. Si no puede lograr un buen ajuste, NO entre al área contaminada. Consulte a su supervisor.

the edge of the respirator.
