Using the dust container
17
Figure
For vacuuming with the dust container, set the
power setting to "bagless".
18
Figure
If the dust container is full or blocked, the filter sta-
tus indicator flashes red and the blue indicator goes
out.
If the appliance is not switched off and the contain-
er is not emptied, after a short while the indicator
will switch to a permanent red and the appliance
will be automatically switched to the lowest power
setting.
The vacuum power setting cannot be changed until
you have switched the appliance off and on again.
Emptying the dust container
19
Figure
The dust container should be emptied after each
time the vacuum cleaner is used or, at the latest,
when the filter status indicator flashes red with the
nozzle lifted off the floor.
Open the dust container lid by moving the locking
lever in the direction of the arrow.
20
Figure
Remove the dust container from the appliance.
21
Figure
Open the bottom flap in the direction of the arrow in
order to empty the container.
When you close the bottom flap, please make sure
that there is no dirt around the edges. Clean it if
necessary.
Close the bottom flap, making sure that you hear it
click into place.
22
Figure
Put the dust container back into the appliance and
close the dust container lid.
!
Caution: the inside of the dust container may
become scratched with use and start to look
opaque. This does not, however, affect the perfor-
mance of the vacuum cleaner in any way, i.e. it will
continue to function as normal.
Cleaning the permanent filter and Microsan filter
The filters must be cleaned:
If you vacuum until the filter status indicator lights up.
After any malfunctions, i.e. after a blockage is
cleared.
At least every six months.
* Dependent on model
12
23
Figure
Unlock the filter holder by pressing the two lugs in
the direction of the arrow and open it.
24
Figure
Remove the Microsan and permanent filters and
clean by tapping out the dirt.
!
Caution: the Microsan filter must be hand washed
every six months or when very dirty, and must only
be refitted in the appliance after they have been
allowed to dry for about 24 hours.
Malfunctions
Removing a blockage in the dust container.
25
Figure
Empty the container (see Figure 21)
Loosen the blockage, e.g. with a screw driver, and
remove by tapping it out.
Close the bottom flap, making sure that you hear it
click into place.
Using dust bags
If necessary, a dust bag can be used instead of the
dust container.
26
Figure
Open the dust bag compartment lid (see Figure 19)
Take out the dust container (see Figure 20) and
insert the dust bag.
Close the dust bag compartment lid.
27
Figure
The required suction level can be selected by infinitely
variable adjustment of the suction regulator.
Low
suction range:
For vacuuming delicate fabrics, e.g. curtains.
Medium
suction range:
For daily vacuuming of lightly soiled floors.
High
suction range:
For vacuuming durable floor coverings, hard floors
and for heavily soiled surfaces.
