Horizontal axis
1. Affix the push-in fittings onto the linear drive – 450 mm (1).
2. Mount the displacement encoder (3) on the linear drive – 450 mm (1) using the materials included in the
mounting kit.
3. Mount the shock absorbers (2) on the linear drive – 450 mm (1) using the shock absorber retainers.
4. Attach the complete linear drive unit (1, 2, 3) onto the profiles 40X80 (15, 23) using the central supports
(14) (see DGP User Manual Page 6).
Lay the two profiles (15, 23) flat on a table for assembly.
– Spacing of the two profiles approx. 320 mm
– Distance between the top edge of the linear drive to the bottom end of the profile approx. 450 mm
5. Use the 4 angle brackets (11), screws and T-head nuts to screw the complete subassembly onto a
slotted assembly board.
6. Completely assemble the proportional directional control valve (5) and the pneumatic valves (21) by
attaching the fittings and silencers (see pneumatic circuit diagram).
7. Attach the proportional directional control valve (5), axis interface POT (4) and the pneumatic valves
(21) on the right-hand profile (23).
Vertical axis
8. Assemble the push-in fittings on the linear drive – 225 mm (18).
9. Tighten the valve sub-base (7) on the top and bottom ends of the linear drive – 225 mm (18) by using
the two foot mountings (12/19).
10. Assemble the shock absorbers on the linear drive – 225 mm (18) using the shock absorber retainers.
11. Completely assemble the proportional directional control valve (17), the pneumatic valves (16) and the
electropneumatic valve (8) by attaching the fittings and silencers (see pneumatic circuit diagram).
12. Attach the gripper jaws, fittings and sensors to the gripper (6).
13. Fasten the axis interface MTS (20), proportional directional control valve (17), pneumatic valves (16),
I/O module M8 (9) / I/O module M12 (10), electropneumatic valve (8) and gripper (6) on the valve sub-
base (7) by using the enclosed screws.
Complete
14. Fasten the vertical axis (18) to the adapter plate (13) with the horizontal axis (1), by using the enclosed
screws.
15. Attach the two holders for the separable protective conduit to the profile (23) and valve sub-base (7) by
using screws and T-head nuts.
16. Attach the EMERGENCY OFF mushroom actuator, solenoid valve and axis controller to the slotted
assembly board.
Make sure that the components lie outside of the axes operating area.
17. Establish the electrical connections as described in the circuit diagram. The gripper (6) and valve (8) are
connected to the I/O modules (9+10) using the pre-assembled cables.
18. Connect the tubing to the unit as shown in the documents.
19. All cables to the vertical axis are routed through the separable protective conduit.
20. Gradually take the unit into operation as described in the documents.
