The control unit with microprocessor for MS4 can be used with motors with power not exceeding 500W.
Adjustment of the motor torque.
To adjust the motor torque, the power levels available are 6.
When the POT. button is pressed the power is increased, as shown by the indicator strip increasing
rightwards. Once the maximum power has been reached, if the button is further pressed, the sequence is
restarted from the minimum power.
Pick-up function
This allows to obtain the maximum drive torque for approx. 1 sec. from start-up. Pick-up can be disabled
by moving Dip-Switch "DSW5"= Off.
Installation instructions.
a) The electrical installation and functioning logic must comply with current standards.
b) Keep the power cables (for the motor and power supply) away from the control cables (buttons, photo-
cells, radio). To avoid interference use two separate sheaths (see EN 60204-1 15.1.3).
c) Check all the connections again before supplying voltage.
d) Check that the Dip-Switch settings are as required.
e) Power the unit, the LED "PGM" should flash. If this is not the case, check the state of the fuses and
whether 230Vac, 50Hz power is present between terminals 1 and 2 (INPUT 230VAC - respect phase/neutral
wire position).
f) If the button STOP is not used, it should short-circuited by using the Dip-Switch "BYPASS" n° 1.
g) If the direction of the motor rotation is not correct, invert the "OPEN" - "CLOSE" wires of the motor as
well as the wires of the "FCA" - "FCC" limit switches.
Input/Output functions
(1,2)
INPUT 230VAC= Power supply of the control unit, 230Vac, 50Hz (follow phase/neutral).
(3,4)
PRIMARY= To terminals of the primary (230Vac) of the transformer.
(5,6)
LAMP230= To the flashing light at 230Vac.
(7,8)
OUT 24VAC= Output, auxiliary power supply, 24Vac (1A max.).
(9,10)
SCA= LED for open gate, 24Vac.
(11)
+V= Common to all control inputs.
(12)
CLOSE= Input, CLOSE push button (N.O. contact)
(13)
OPEN = Input, OPEN push button (N.O. contact)
(14)
P.P.= Input, P.P. push-button (N.O. contact)
(15)
STOP= Input, STOP push-button (N.C. contact)
(16)
FTC= Input, photocell receiver (N.C. contact)
(17)
FCA= Input, OPEN limit switch (N.C. contact)
(18)
FCC= Input, CLOSE limit switch (N.C. contact)
(19,20)
DAS= Input, Safety edge*
(21,22)
RX 2CH.= 2
(23,24)
ANT.= Input, radio board antenna.
(25,26)
SECONDARY= To terminals of the secondary (24Vac) of the transformer.
(27,28)
COND.= To the capacitor.
(29,30,31) CLOSE/OPEN/COM= To the relevant terminals of the 230Vac, 50Hz motor (it is mandatory to
connect the earthing yellow/green wire on the motor frame).
* The input of the safety edge is a calibrated resistance input.
Should a resistive safety edge be used: close the jumper J4 located near the input.
Should a mechanical safety edge be used: open the jumper J4 located near the input.
If no safety edge is mounted, open the jumper and short-circuit the two terminals 19 and 20.
N.B.: Two dedicated inputs are provided for the safety edge. NEVER CONNECT THE SAFETY EDGE TO
THE COMMON TERMINAL.
Dip-switch "Select" functions
Only after the motor will stop at least once, the new function selected will be activated.
DSW1
This selects the type of functioning of the P.P. button and Remote control.
Off= "OPEN" - "STOP" - "CLOSE" functioning
On= "OPEN" - "CLOSE" - "OPEN" functioning.
DSW2
This enables or disables the automatic re-closing - "TCA TRIMMER".
Off= Automatic re-closing disabled
On= Automatic re-closing enabled
DSW3
This enables or disables the apartment building function (after the first opening command, the
P.P. button and the Remote control are deactivated).
