5.7 DRAIN CONNECTION
Make certain that the distance between the
machine drain outlet and the floor drain is
not longer than the drain elbow supplied.
Water is drained through a motor-driven
valve that is open (by gravity) when the
machine is not supplied with electricity.
Therefore, the floor drain must always be
lower than the machine drain outlet. The
diameter of the floor drain must never be
smaller than that of the supplied hose.
Model
Drain flow-rate
Mod. 8/11/18
80 l/min.
The draining pipe must be able to resist a
temperature of 90°C.
Install a trap between the hose supplied and
the drain.
Check that the hose is not crushed or blocked.
5.8 AIR BREAK
The washing machine is equipped with an air-
break device to stop wastewater from flowing
back into the drinkable water system in the
event of a depression. This device has a rear
outlet that may liberate innocuous steam during
heating. Do not close or couple the air-break
outlet.
THE GUARANTEE DOES NOT COVER
DAMAGE CAUSED BY INCORRECT
INSTALLATION.

7. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND
ORDINARY MAINTENANCE
7.1 OPERATION
Make sure that the cold water, hot water and
steam taps are open (the latter applies only to
steam-heated machines).
Turn ON the automatic thermomagnetic
cutoff switch on the wall (turn the latter to
position 1). If the door is closed, the machine
will then be ready to be started using the
START push-button on the machine front
panel.
To select the cycle, open the door by the
appropriate handle and press on the "SEL"
push-button. The display will show
programme number: to confirm it just close
the door. Otherwise, press the SEL push-
button again and again until the display
reads the desired cycle number.
After you have chosen your cycle following
the temperature and wash action suggested
by the labels attached to the garments (see
cycles below), sort the laundry according to
the type of fabric, put it into the drum and
close the door. Remember that loading the
machine with less than 80% of its rated
capacity may hinder correct operation
and even cause damage. Then fill the various
dispenser compartments with soap (foam-
damping type) according to cycle selection,
i.e.:
A prewash compartment (when scheduled
by the wash cycle selected)
B main wash compartment
C compartment for other products to be
added during the last rinse
Then select water level, which ranges
between the factory setting (calculated
following the maximum laundry load) and a
20% reduction that may apply to partial
loads or economy cycles.
Start the program pressing the green
"START" push-button, which is on the
control panel, on the right.
The door will automatically be locked and
cycle progress will be shown by the leds on
the left of the control panel (see 7.1).
