5.7 STEAM CONNECTION (steam-heated
machines only)
The washing machine is fitted with a 3/4"
steam inlet. The incoming steam pressure
must be between 0.5 and 6 bar (0.05 and 0.6
MPa). If doubts should arise, read the rating
plate data. Steam is meant as saturated and
dry.
The water in the tub is heated directly (not
through a coil, which would be indirect).
Therefore it will not be necessary to envis-
age a condensation recovery coupling.
If the machine is subjected to ISPESL in-
spection, keep all ISPESL documents in the
room where the washing machine is lodged.
When the connection is finished be sure that
the pipe is not crushed or blocked.
5.8 DRAIN CONNECTION
Make certain that the distance between the
machine drain outlet and the floor drain is
not longer than the supplied drain elbow.
Water is drained through a motor-driven
valve that is open (by gravity) when the
machine is not supplied with electricity.
Therefore, the floor drain must always be
lower than the machine drain outlet. The
diameter of the floor drain must never be
smaller than that of the supplied hose.

The draining pipe must be able to resist
90°C.
Install a U-trap between the supplied hose
and the drain.
Check that the hose is not crushed or blocked.
5.9 AIR BREAK
The washing machine is equipped with an
air-break device to stop wastewater from
flowing back into the drinkable water sys-
tem in the event of a depression. This device
has a rear outlet which may liberate innocuous
steam during heating. Do not close or couple it.
THE GUARANTEE DOES NOT COVER
DAMAGE CAUSED BY INCORRECT
INSTALLATION.

7. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
7.1 OPERATION
Make sure that the cold water, hot water and
steam taps are open (the latter applies only to
steam heated machines).
Turn both the wall automatic cutoff switch
and the built-in 1-0 switch on (turn the latter
to position 1).
If the door is closed, the machine will be
ready to be started using the green START
push-button.
If you need to change cycle selection, open
the door by the appropriate handle and press
on the "SEL" push-button. The display will
show programme number: to confirm it just
close the door. Scroll programs from 1 to 5
and then back to 1 again by pressing the
push-button.
After you have chosen your cycle following
the temperature and wash action suggested
by the labels attached to the garments (see
cycles below), sort the laundry according to
the type of fabric, put it into the drum and
close the door. Fill the various dispenser
compartments with soap (foam-damping
type) according to cycle selection, i.e.:
- Compartment A for pre wash (when
scheduled by the selected wash cycle)
- Compartment B for main wash
- Compartment C for other products to be
added during last rinse.
Then select the desired number of rinses,
either 3 or 5, using the appropriate key and
then start the programme pressing the green
"START" push-button, which is on the con-
trol panel, on the right.
The door will automatically be locked and
cycle progress will be shown by the led's on
the left of the control panel.
The push-button also causes the timer to
start its countdown.
However, effective cycle time depends on
real operating conditions and may not
correspond with the displayed time.
7.2 CYCLE STAGES
The various cycle stages are shown by the
leds on the left of the control panel, i.e. from
top to bottom:
1) YELLOW LED: STOP - The wash cycle
is over or the machine has just been started.
2) GREEN LED: PREWASH. - Prewash
under way (if scheduled)
3) GREEN LED: WASH - Wash stage un-
der way
