consequently must not be left within the
reach of children. Collect and keep for further
transportation or long-term storage (see
chapter 9).
Before connecting the appliance, check that
the rating plate details correspond to those of
the existing electrical system.
The washing machine must only ever be
used for the purposes it was explicitly
designed for.
5. GETTING THE APPLIANCE
STARTED
5.1 POSITIONING REQUIREMENTS
The machine must be placed on a flat, solid
surface (metal base, concrete or solid
ground). It is recommended that the machine
be anchored in the indicated base points (A),
especially in case of a plinth (see
"Dimensions").
The machine must be placed perfectly level.
For the purposes of easy maintenance,
keeping a minimal distance of 600mm
between the wall and the back of the machine
is recommended.
If several machines are placed next to each
other, there should be a minimal distance of
30 mm between two adjacent machines.
Attention:
Repeat levelling after moving the
appliance.
Removing the transport brackets
To prevent damage during transportation,
the machine has been equipped with four red
transport brackets that prevent whatever tub
movement. After the machine has been
placed level, take off the service panel and
remove these transport brackets.
Important
The machine must never be operated
before removing these transport brackets.
5.2 SPACE REQUIRED FOR
INSTALLATION, USE AND
MAINTENANCE
The washing machine requires the minimum
space indicated in the dimensional figures.
The cutoff switch must be in a position
allowing easy access to the operator in any
EMERGENCY event (maximum distance
3 m).
5.3 ALLOWABLE ROOM
CONDITIONS FOR PROPER
MACHINE SERVICE
Let these conditions be known to machine
users.
-
TYPE OF ROOM: CLOSED
-
MINIMUM TEMPERATURE: 10
(Caution: When ambient temperature is
below 10°C, electronic parts may work
irregularly)
-
MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE: 40
-
RELATIVE HUMIDITY: 75% H.R.
-
LIGHTING: 100 LUX (valid for Italy;
as for other national provisions regarding
lighting in working premises, consult
the relevant national codes).
5.4 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The washing machine must be installed by
professionally qualified personnel, in
accordance with the instructions provided
by the manufacturer and with local
regulations. Incorrect installation may cause
harm to persons, animals or property. The
manufacturer disclaims all responsibility for
any such damage.
Make sure that power supply voltage
corresponds to the values appearing on the
rating plate of the washing machine. Consider
also that the maximum allowable power
voltage variation is ±10%.
IMPORTANT:
THE
MACHINE MUST BE PROPERLY
EARTHED.
To this purpose, the terminal block is fitted
with a specific contact, which must be
connected according to the regulations in
force. The manufacturer assumes no
responsibility for any damage resulting from
nonobservance of this accident prevention
principle.
In compliance with the latest accident
prevention provisions, the machine is
provided with an external terminal for
equipotential connection.
Ahead of the washing machine there must be
an automatic multipolar cutoff switch with
contacts spacing at least 3mm, which must
be calibrated according to the maximum
rated input (see rating plate and table below).

Instructions for electrical connection
Remove the cover plate on the back of the
machine (see dimensions, position E).
Connect the power cable to the connectors
R, S, T (3x220V) or R, S, T and N
(3x380V+N) and the ground wire.

5.5 WATER CONNECTION
The machine is delivered including hoses
with 3/4" connections. These hoses fit the
machine water-inlet valves and the main

water inlet taps. To ensure the optimal
functioning of the water inlet valves, the
water pressure on the inlet should be between
0.5 and 10 kg/sq.cm (between 7 and 125 psi).
°
C
If the pressure is too low, the cycle time will
increase considerably.
In case of boiler-fed machines, a minimum
amount of hot water (90°C) must be available:
For 50 kg machines 350 litres; for 63kg
machines 445 litres.
When the connection is finished make sure
that the pipes are not crushed or blocked.
5.6 DRAIN CONNECTION
The machine is equipped with a drain valve
with 3" outer diameter (80mm). This drain
valve should be connected to the drain by
means of the drain elbow that is attached to
the machine.
The diameter of the main drain should be
adapted to the water flow rate and the number
of machines installed. It should be sufficient
to handle at least 160l/min. per machine.
To allow correct ventilation, it is necessary
to connect the main drain to an open air-
WASHING
break at least on one side.
If the main drain should release odour, fit a
deodoriser on every single machine.
After performing the connection, check that
the hose is not crushed or blocked.
5.7 CONNECTION OF THE LIQUID
SOAP PUMPS (OPTIONAL)
Connection of liquid soap hoses
A rubber connection has been placed over
the air break opening, at the back of the
machine. There are 5 holes in this rubber
connection, through each of which a liquid
soap hose can be driven (S1...S5). Press the
hoses in until they appear well inside the
soap dispenser.
The central gap in the rubber connection
must stay open to act as air breaker.
