5 Connection
Prior to connecting /disconnecting switch off
all units concerned .
5.1 Audio source
It is possible to connect a stereo audio source
delivering audio signals with line level, e . g .
mixer, preamplifier, CD player . Connect the
output of the audio source to one of the two
pairs of jacks on the connector panel INPUT
(8), either to the XLR jacks or to the RCA jacks:
LEFT = left channel, RIGHT = right channel .
Especially with long connection cables, it
is preferable to use the balanced XLR jacks:
A balanced signal transmission will offer the
best interference suppression .
5.2 Speakers
The connector panel OUTPUT (9) offers both
terminals and speaker jacks to connect the
speakers . The terminals and the speaker jacks
are connected in parallel .
Connect the two speakers (minimum
impedance: 4 Ω) either to the terminals or to
the jacks: LEFT = left channel, RIGHT = right
channel . If 4 Ω speakers are used, they must
be designed for a minimum load of 100 W
8 Ω speakers for a minimum load of 80 W
Refer to Fig . 3 or Fig . 4 .

To connect a speaker: Connect its positive
pole (marked core of the speaker cable) to the
red terminal and connect its negative pole to
the black terminal .

The figure shows the pin configuration of the
connector plugs . In the amplifier, pin 1+ is
connected to pin 2+ and pin 1– is connected
to pin 2– . Therefore, it is also possible to use
the pair 2+ / 2− instead of the pair 1+ /1− .
After inserting the plug into the jack, turn
the plug clockwise until it engages . To remove
the plug, pull back the latch on the plug and
turn the plug counter-clockwise .
5.2.1 Connecting multiple speakers
to one channel
To connect multiple speakers to one channel,
the total impedance of the speakers must not
fall below 4 Ω at any channel; otherwise, the
amplifier may be damaged .
Figures 5 to 7 show examples for connec-
ting two speakers to one channel . Important:
For the examples of connection 5 and 6, make
sure to use speakers with a minimum impe-
dance of 8 Ω; otherwise, the total impedance
of the speakers will fall below the admissible
value!

6 Operation
Hint: To prevent switching noise, always switch on
the other units of the audio system before switching
on the power amplifier and switch off the power
amplifier before switching off the other units .
1) Before switching on the amplifier, set the
two volume controls (2) to zero to make
sure that the initial volume will not be too
high .
2) Use the POWER switch (4) to switch the
amplifier on and off . The power LED ON (1)
will light up when the amplifier is switched
on .
3) Use the volume controls (2) to adjust the
volume: Control L-CH for the left channel;
control R-CH for the right channel . In case
of overload of a channel, the correspond-
ing red LED CLIP (3) will light up . Turn back
the control accordingly .
CAUTION Never adjust a very high
volume . Permanent high
volumes may damage your
hearing! Your ear will get
accustomed to high vol-
umes which do not seem
to be that high after some
time . Therefore, do not fur-
ther increase a high volume
after getting used to it .
