4.13. Tipping aid

The tipping aid can be used to make it easier for a companion to
negotiate obstacles such as kerbs. Hold the wheelchair firmly at the
push handles with both hands. Then press one of the tip assists with
one foot (Fig. 38), while at the same time pushing downwards with
your hands.
4.14. Anti-tippers/anti-tip wheels
38
To adjust the anti-tipper's distance to the floor, please proceed as
follows:
Pull back the cup washer (Fig. 39).
Move the anti-tipper into the desired position (Fig. 40).
Release the cup washer to lock the anti-tipper.
Please note that some ground clearance is necessary to negotiate
obstacles such as kerb edges. The various adjustment options allow
39
you to adjust the anti-tippers to the conditions individually.
The anti-tippers can also be used as a tipping aid when anti-tipping
wheels are raised.

Always use the anti-tipper as a pair.

4.15. Safety belt

If required, a safety belt is available as an accessory. This is fitted onto
the side frame of the wheelchair with the side part either temporarily
removed or swung away (Fig. 41). Take the open end of the belt once
around the side frame tube and then fix it with the belt buckle. You
also use the belt buckle to adjust the length of the belt. Adjust the belt
length so that the belt is tight, but does not apply pressure.
5. Use
Please be careful of your fingers during use. Risk of
becoming trapped!

5.1. Getting in and out from the side

Move the wheelchair and the current or future seat so they are
arranged side by side and as close to each other as possible.
If the child wants to move from another wheelchair or indoor frame,
secure this by activating the locking brakes.
Secure the Pyrolino against rolling away accidentally by activating
the locking brake (Fig. 42).
Remove the side part with the armrest (Fig. 43).
Fold the foot plates to the side or remove the leg rests (Fig. 44).
Now let the child slide laterally onto the other seat.
Make sure that the child sits as far back as possible in the seat.
Finally, return the leg rests to their original position. And re-insert
the side parts if necessary.
