Winch Repair
•
To repair the winch, only identical parts must be used to avoid dangers for the
user.
2.
Rewinding Cable
•
Wear leather gloves to rewind. To rewind the cable correctly, hold the cable in
one hand and the remote in the other. Pull gently on the cable during rewinding.
•
Begin by positioning yourself the farthest from the winch and in front of it. Turn
the winch on and slowly let the cable rewind.
•
The cable must not slip through your hands. Do not approach the winch too.
•
Turn off the winch and finish rewinding by hand by turning the drum manually.
Remove the gear to activate the drum by hand.
•
If the winch is recessed rewind the rest of the cable with the remote, but with-
out touching it.
Warning: The use of fittings or accessories not mentioned in this manual is prohib-
ited!
DIRECTIONS FOR THE USE
Read these tips for working safely.
1.
You can let the cable rewind under tension erratically, if you always look out for
that the cable does not rewind on one side of the drum. If so, stop pulling and
moving the attachment point on the middle of the vehicle. Once finished, you can
unwind the cable to rewind properly.
2.
Keep the remote in the vehicle so as not to damage it. Before use, check the
condition of the remote.
3.
When everything is ready for towing, connect the remote control when no gear
is engaged. Do not engage a gear if the engine is on.
4.
Never attach the hook to the cable itself. This will damage the cable. Always use a
loop or a chain of sufficient strength.

5.
Watch the winch during use. Keep a safe distance from the winch and the cable.
Stop pulling after a few meters to make sure that the cable wraps well. A jam can
damage the cable.
6.
Do not attach a towing hook to the winch. These must be attached to the ve-
hicle.
7.
Using a pulley doubles the force of traction. The speed is halved. In this case, it is
advisable to secure the winch to the vehicle body.
8.
If you use a shackle, get the straps adjusted.
9.
If you lengthen the cable, make sure the cable is wound at least five times around
the drum to prevent from a cable slack and do not injure people or cause dam-
ages.
10. All winches have a red mark on the cable showing that the cable is wound
around the drum 5 times. Do not unroll the cable further.
11. As the maximum pulling force is applied to half of the cable, it is advisable to
unwind as much cable as possible (until the red mark) or to use pulleys if there is
not enough space.
12. It is advisable to place a heavy fabric on the cable to prevent it causing serious
damages in case of breakage.
13. A regular rewind avoids damage to the cable. The fibers of the cable must not
cross when the cable is rewound. If so, roll back and rewind the cable properly.
14. Use block-wheelers in case of a slope.
15. Battery:
•
Make sure your battery is in good condition.
•
avoid contact with internal parts of the battery
•
Wear eye protection when working on the battery
•
When using the winch, leave the engine running so that your battery doesn´t get
empty.
