Warning and safety information

For safety reasons the TITRONIC
for example, work on the electrical equipment, for example, may only be performed by trained specialists.
If the unit is opened without authorisation, or if it is damaged maliciously or through negligence, the war-
ranty will become void.

The TITRONIC 110 plus Piston Burette conforms to protection class I. It has been built and tested in ac-
cordance with EN 57 411, Part 1, Protection Measures for Electronic Measuring Instruments and has left
the factory in perfect technical condition. In order to maintain this condition and ensure safe operation, the
user must observe all the instructions and warnings contained in the present operating instructions.
Before switching the unit on, please make sure that its operating voltage matches that of the mains volt-
age. The operating voltage is specified on the type plate. The mains plug may only be inserted into a
socket with an earthed contact. The earth must not be eliminated by using an extension cable without an
earthed wire. Any discontinuity in the earth wire inside or outside the device or disconnection of the earth
wire may lead to the device becoming hazardous. The earth wire must not be disconnected intentionally.
When replacing any fuses, they have to be of the rated type and nominal voltage. The relevant information
can be found on the back panel of the device. The use of patched up fuses or short-circuiting the fuse
holders is not allowed.
If it has to be assumed that it is not possible to operate the TITRONIC
to be taken out of operation and secured against unintentional operation: Please switch the TITRONIC
110 plus Piston Burette off, remove the mains cord, and call the service department of SCHOTT-
GERÄTE.
Examples for the assumption that a safe operation is no longer possible:

- the TITRONIC 110 plus Piston Burette shows visible damages,

- the TITRONIC 110 plus Piston Burette does not function properly,
- serious strain is present during transportation.

The TITRONIC 110 plus Piston Burette must not be stored or operated in humid rooms.

When using liquids with a high vapour pressure and/or matters or mixed matters not qualified for use un-
der chapter 1.1, "Summary, Declaration of Conformity", the user will be responsible for the safe and
proper operation of the piston burette.
When the piston rises in the cylinder a microfilm of the dosed fluid remains on the internal wall of the cylin-
der, but this has not influence on the dosing accuracy. However, this minimal residue of fluid may evapo-
rate and thus penetrate into the zone beneath the piston and corrode or dissolve the materials which are
in use there (also cp. chapter 6, "Maintenance and care of the TITRONIC T 110 plus Piston Burette").
The TITRONIC T 110 plus Piston Burette is equipped with integrated circuits (EPROMs). These circuits
can be deleted by X-rays, radioactive rays, or UV rays. Whilst UV rays are retained completely by the hou-
sing, X-rays or other high-energy rays may penetrate the device housing and delete the program.
Please observe also the relevant operating instructions for any units to be connected to the TITRONIC T
110 plus Piston Burette, for example, titrators, keyboards, sample changers, manual titration controllers,
personal computers.
