Titration using the TR 160 Manual Titration Controller
The TR 160 Manual Titration Controller connects directly to the I/O port (Fig. 15, item 3) of the TITRONIC
110 plus Piston Burette. If no other devices are connected, e.g. a keyboard, the TITRONIC
ton Burette will recognise the TR 160 Manual Titration Controller as the only controlling device. With the
TR 160 Manual Titration Controller connected as sole device, manual titration can begin right away..
Functioning
With the TR 160 Manual Titration Controller, titrating can be controlled manually. This involves a 10-level
switch and 4 press-buttons.
All the keys are logically interlocked. If any of the key is depressed, the piston burette will not react to any
other command until the operation in progress is completed.

Item 1: The level-switch
10 different titration speeds can be selected with this level switch.
The titration speed may also be changed during a running titra-
2
tion by turning this switch. Setting <1> gives the slowest titration
speed (100 % of burette volume/300 sec). Setting <10> gives the
highest titration speed (100 % of burette volume/30 sec). A useful
feature for manual titration is the possibility of switching directly
from the highest to the lowest titration speed (setting 10 to setting
3
1) or vice versa. The current titration speeds are indicated on the
display of the TITRONIC

Item 2: <F> button
The <F> (Filling) press-button initiates the filling process of the
burette from any piston position. This requires just a brief depres-
sion of the press-button. The ex-factory setting for the filling time
5
for 100 % of volume is 30 s for all interchangeable units.
Item 3: <0> button
Press the <0> button to reset the display of the piston burette to
<<0.000>> or <<0.00>>, respectively. When the titer is small, this
feature enables a number of titrations to be carried out in fast
succession without any refilling being required between them.
However, before changing the interchangeable unit, initiate the
filling cycle (press the <F> button), to move the piston to the
lower end position.
