5.1 Routine maintenance
WARNING!
Before performing any maintenance operations wear heat-resistant gloves. The engine (A) and the muffler (5), the
compressor head block (B) and the hydraulic hose (33) from the pilot valve (27) get extremely hot.
Routine maintenance work is to be performed by operators.
NOTE: Before performing any maintenance on the engine, refer to the Use & Maintenance manual supplied.
Before performing the following operations, remove the thermoplastic hood (3).
Before operating the motorcompressor, make sure that the thermoplastic hood has been mounted correctly, so as to protect the
operator from the moving parts.
Perform the procedures below in the order given:
-
Turn the switch (12) or the switch-lever (18) (diesel versions only) to stop the engine
-
Close the cock (37) on the fuel tank (gasoline versions only)
-
Open the valve (26) to drain the air tank completely
5.1.1 Checking the oil level
-
Check the oil level in the compressor by using the dipstick (32). The sight glass (34) allows to check the oil level quickly.
5.1.2 Draining condensation from the air tank
-
Open the exhaust valve (26) located on the bottom of the tank and allow the condensation to flow out
-
Close the valve as soon as air begins to come out.
5.1.3 Removing/cleaning the suction filters (23)
-
Remove the cover to get at the filter element
-
Blow compressed air into the filter element
-
Put the cover again and fully tighten the screw.
5.1.4 Checking the oil level in the air lubricator (20)
-
Check the oil level through the sight glass.
5.1.5 Adding air lubricating oil
-
To relieve the air pressure up, turn the adjustment knob (8) anti-clockwise
-
Unscrew the plug on the lubricator (14) and fill with anticondensing oil Campagnola or with SAE 10 oil, through the recipient
with nozzle supplied. In Mod. 260 the oil filling operation is done by unscrewing the bowl (20)
-
Set the operating pressure to the desired value
-
Clean up any oil leaks.
IMPORTANT!
Do not use hydraulic oil or brake fluid as these may cause irreparable damage to the equipment.
5.1.6 Draining the condensation from the filter bowl (15)
-
Open the exhaust valve (19) located underneath the bowl
-
Let the condensation flow out
-
Close the valve as soon as air starts to come out.
IMPORTANT!
Condensation or lack of lubrication damage the pneumatic equipment.
