5.2 Anzeige der Titelnummer, Laufzeit, Takt-
schläge pro Minute und des Ruhemodus
In der Grundeinstellung nach dem Einschalten gibt
das Display folgende Informationen an:
1. die Anzahl der Titel (b) auf der CD
2. die angewählte Titelnummer (a)
3. die Restlaufzeit des angewählten Titels nume-
risch (s) und grafisch (u); die Sekunden sind in 75
sogenannte Frames (F) unterteilt
4. bei Modell CD-40PRO: bei MP3-Titeln wird zu-
sätzlich der Dateiname des angewählten Titels in
der Textzeile (r) angegeben (max. 30 Zeichen)
Durch mehrfaches kurzes Betätigen der Taste
TIME/STOP (16) lässt sich die Laufzeitanzeige um-
schalten (wird die Taste länger gedrückt, schaltet
das Laufwerk auf Stopp):

5.2.1 Bargraf

Zusätzlich zur numerischen Laufzeitanzeige (s)
stellt der Bargraf (u) die Laufzeit grafisch durch
seine Länge dar. Die letzten 30 Sekunden eines

5.2.1 Bar graph

In addition to the numerical time indication (s), the
bar graph (u) indicates the playing time graphically
by its length. The last 30 seconds of a title are indi-
cated by the bar graph flashing in its full length, the
last 15 seconds by even faster flashing.
5.2.2 Beat counter
To display the number of beats per minute of the cur-
rent title, switch on the beat counter: Shortly actuate
the button BPM (24). "BPM" and the symbol
are displayed. As soon as the beat counter has
determined the number of beats per minute, this
value will be indicated in the field (w) below.

5.2.2 Beatcounter

erlischt. Dann die Taste im Takt der Musik einige
Male drücken. Zum Zurückschalten auf den automa-
tischen Zählmodus die Taste erneut 3 Sekunden
gedrückt halten, bis das Symbol
Hinweise
1. Solange der Beatcounter noch kein brauchbares
Resultat gezählt hat (z. B. am Titelanfang), signa-
lisiert die Anzeige „– – –".
2. Ist der automatische Zählmodus eingeschaltet,
lässt sich die Beatcounter-Anzeige durch kurzes
Drücken der Taste BPM wieder ausblenden.

5.2.3 Ruhemodus

Steht das Laufwerk länger als 30 Minuten auf Pau-
se, schaltet das Gerät automatisch in den Ruhemo-
dus. Das Laser-Abtastsystem ist dann abgeschaltet
und wird somit geschont. Das Display zeigt „
(Schlaf) und alle beleuchteten Tasten sowie alle
LEDs außer der LED über dem CD-Einzugsschlitz
erlöschen. Durch Betätigen irgendeiner Taste wird in
den normalen Betriebsmodus zurückgeschaltet.
Das Laufwerk steht danach exakt an der Stelle der
CD, an der es vor dem Einschalten des Ruhemodus
stand.
Hinweis: Steht das Laufwerk auf Stopp oder ist kei-

5.2.3 Sleep mode

If the player mechanism is set to pause for a period
exceeding 30 minutes, the unit will automatically go
to sleep mode. In this case, the laser sampling
system is switched off for the purpose of conserva-
tion.

Then the player mechanism precisely returns to the
spot on the CD where it was before the unit was set
to the sleep mode.
Note: If the player mechanism is set to stop or if no
CD has been inserted, the unit will not go to sleep
mode.

5.3 Selecting the operating mode

5.3.1 Single title replay

After switching on the CD player, the single title
replay specially provided for DJ applications is
always activated:
1. The display indicates "SINGLE" (d).

5.3 Betriebsart wählen

5.3.1 Einzeltitelwiedergabe

Nach dem Einschalten des CD-Players ist immer die
Einzeltitelwiedergabe aktiviert, die speziell für DJ-
Anwendungen vorgesehen ist:
1. Das Display signalisiert „SINGLE" (d).
2. Nach dem Einlesen einer CD oder nach dem An-
wählen eines Titels steht der CD-Player exakt an
der Stelle, an der die Musik beginnt (nicht bei
Zeitindex 0:00:00).
Diese Stelle wird automatisch als Startpunkt
gespeichert. Das Display signalisiert dabei kurz
. Nach dem Starten des Titels kann mit der
Taste BOP (11) oder der Taste CUE (12) auf die-
sen Startpunkt zurückgesprungen werden.
3. Nach dem Spielen eines Titels schaltet das Gerät
exakt an der Stelle auf Pause, an der die Musik
des nächsten Titels beginnt. Diese Stelle ist dann
als neuer Startpunkt gespeichert.

5.3.2 Gesamttitelwiedergabe

Soll ein Titel nach dem anderen kontinuierlich abge-
spielt werden, mit der Taste AUTO CUE SINGLE/
CONTINUE (18) auf Gesamttitelwiedergabe schal-
ten. Das Display springt von „SINGLE" (d) auf
„CONT" (f) um. Zum Zurückschalten auf Einzeltitel-
wiedergabe die Taste erneut betätigen.

5.3.3 Relay-Betrieb mit zwei CD-Spielern

Ist ein zweiter CD-Player CD-40DJ oder CD-40PRO
an der Buchse RELAY (33) angeschlossen, lassen
sich die beiden CD-Player automatisch wechselsei-
tig starten.

1) Beide CD-Player mit der Taste AUTO CUE
SINGLE/CONTINUE (18) auf Einzeltitelwieder-
gabe schalten: „SINGLE" (d) muss in beiden Dis-
plays angezeigt sein.

5.3.3 Relay mode with two CD players

If a second CD player CD-40DJ or CD-40PRO is
connected to the jack RELAY (33), both CD players
can automatically be started alternately.

1) Set both CD players to single title replay with the
button AUTO CUE SINGLE/CONTINUE (18):
"SINGLE" (d) must be indicated in both displays.
2) To switch on the relay function, press the button
RELAY (15) on both CD players. With the func-
tion activated, the button is illuminated.
3) Start the replay on one CD player with the button
(13). The other CD player must be set to
pause (display ). As soon as the title has been
played to the end, the CD player is set to pause
and the other CD player starts. This procedure is
continuously repeated until the relay operation is
switched off. (To switch it off, press the buttons
RELAY again.)
4) If another CD is inserted into the CD player set to
pause, activate the relay operation with the but-
ton RELAY again.
