2 Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Dieses Gerät entspricht der Richtlinie für elektroma-
gnetische Verträglichkeit 89/336/EWG und der Nie-
derspannungsrichtlinie 73/23/EWG.
Das Gerät wird mit lebensgefährlicher Netzspan-
nung (230 V~) versorgt. Nehmen Sie deshalb nie-
mals selbst Eingriffe im Gerät vor. Durch unsach-
gemäßes Vorgehen besteht die Gefahr eines
elektrischen Schlages. Außerdem erlischt beim
Öffnen des Gerätes jeglicher Garantieanspruch.
Beachten Sie für den Betrieb auch unbedingt die fol-
genden Punkte:

Das Gerät ist nur zur Verwendung in Räumen geeig-
net. Schützen Sie es vor Feuchtigkeit und Hitze (zu-
lässiger Einsatztemperaturbereich 0 – 40 °C).
1.2 Rear panel

11 MAIN INPUT via phono jacks; connected in paral-
lel with the phono jacks (7) at the front panel;
when connecting one of the 6.3 mm jacks (5 or
12), the phono jacks are switched off
12 MAIN INPUT via 6.3 mm jack at the rear panel;
when connecting this jack, the signals of the
phono jacks (7 +11) are switched off;
on the other hand this jack is switched off when
connecting the 6.3 mm jack of the MAIN INPUT
(5) at the front panel
13 Separate SOLO INPUT for each channel
2 Safety Notes
This appliance corresponds to the directive for elec-
tromagnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC and the low
voltage directive 73/23/EEC.
This unit uses dangerous mains voltage (230 V~).
To prevent a shock hazard, do not open the cabi-
net. Leave servicing to authorized, skilled person-
nel only. Furthermore, any guarantee claim expires
if the unit has been opened.
Always observe the following items regarding the
operation:
The unit is designed for indoor use only. Protect it
against humidity and heat (admissible ambient
temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
Do not take the unit into operation and immediately
take the mains plug out of the mains socket if:
1. damage at the unit or mains cable can be seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or
similar accident,

3. there are malfunctions.
The unit must in any case be repaired by author-
ized skilled personnel.
A damaged mains cable must only be repaired by
the manufacturer or authorized skilled personnel.
Never pull the mains plug out of the mains socket
by means of the mains cable.
Nehmen Sie das Gerät nicht in Betrieb, und ziehen
Sie sofort den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose,

1. sichtbare Schäden am Gerät oder an der Netz-
anschlußleitung vorhanden sind,
2. nach einem Sturz oder ähnlichem der Verdacht
auf einen Defekt besteht,
3. Funktionsstörungen auftreten.
Das Gerät in jedem Fall zur Reparatur in eine
Fachwerkstatt geben.
Eine beschädigte Netzanschlußleitung darf nur
durch den Hersteller oder eine autorisierte Fach-
werkstatt ersetzt werden.
Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker nie an der Zuleitung
aus der Steckdose.
Wird das Gerät zweckentfremdet, falsch bedient
oder nicht fachgerecht repariert, kann für eventu-
elle Schäden keine Haftung übernommen werden.
Verwenden Sie für die Reinigung nur ein weiches,
trockenes Tuch, auf keinen Fall Wasser oder Che-
mikalien.
Soll das Gerät endgültig aus dem Betrieb genom-
men werden, übergeben Sie es zur Entsorgung
einem örtlichen Recyclingbetrieb.
3 Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Der PPA-1 ist ein 6-Kanal-Kopfhörerverstärker in
Stereoausführung. Mit ihm können Audiosignale mit
Line-Pegel (z. B. von CD-Spielern, Tape-Decks,
Mischpulten) für die Wiedergabe über bis zu sechs
Kopfhörer verstärkt werden. Auf jeden Kanal kann
ein anderes Eingangssignal über die Eingänge
SOLO INPUT gegeben werden. Ein weiteres Ein-
gangssignal am Eingang MAIN INPUT läßt sich auf
mehrere Kanäle verteilen.
4 Aufstellmöglichkeiten
Das Gerät kann als freistehendes Tischgerät aufge-
stellt oder in ein Rack (482 mm/19") eingeschoben
werden. Für den Einbau in ein Rack wird 1
Höheneinheit (= 44 mm) benötigt.

Only use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning, by no means
chemicals or water.
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively,
bring it to a local recycling plant for disposal.
Important for U.K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in ac-
cordance with the following code:
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal in the plug which is
marked with the letter N or coloured black.
2. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
3 Applications
The PPA-1 is a 6-channel headphone amplifier in
stereo version. This unit enables to amplify audio sig-
nals with line level (e. g. of CD players, tape decks,
mixers) for the reproduction via up to six head-
phones. Another input signal can be fed via the
inputs SOLO INPUT to each channel. A further input
signal at the MAIN INPUT can be distributed to
several channels.
4 Mounting
The unit can be used as table top unit or be placed
into a rack (482 mm/19"). For the installation into a
rack 1 rack space (= 44 mm) is necessary.
