an appropriate support (e . g . C hook, mount-
ing clamp) . To fasten the mounting bracket to
the unit, insert the two bolts of the bracket
into the holes (10) of the base plate; then,
using force, turn the two bolts clockwise to
the stop so that they engage .
WARNING The unit must be installed in a
safe and expert manner . If the
unit is installed at a place where
people may walk or sit under
it, additionally secure the unit
[e . g . by means of a safety rope
guided through the lug (11);
fasten the safety rope in such
a way that the maximum fall-
ing distance of the unit will not
exceed 20 cm] .
5 Establishing
Control Connections
To operate the units with a DMX controller
or in the master / slave mode, interconnect
the units by means of the XLR connections .
For connection, special cables for DMX signal
transmission should be used (e . g . cables of
the CDMXN series from IMG STAGE LINE) .
For cable lengths exceeding 150 m, it is gen-
erally recommended to insert a DMX level
matching amplifier (e . g . SR-103DMX from
IMG STAGE LINE) .
5.1 Operation with a
DMX controller
1) Connect the DMX input (5) to the DMX
output of the DMX controller or to the
DMX output of another DMX-controlled
unit .
2) Connect the DMX output (4) to the DMX
input of the following DMX-controlled
unit . Connect the output of this unit to
the input of the subsequent unit etc . until
all DMX-controlled units have been con-
nected in a chain .
3) To prevent interference in signal transmis-
sion, in case of long cables or a multitude
of units connected in series, terminate the
DMX output of the last unit in the chain
with a 120 Ω resistor (> 0 .3 W): Connect
a corresponding terminating plug (e . g .
DLT-123 from IMG STAGE LINE) to the
output jack .
5.2 Master/slave mode
In the master/slave mode, a show program
will synchronously run on multiple units
WASH-100RGBW . In this mode, the first
unit (master unit) will control the other units
(slave units) . As in the DMX mode, connect
the units in a chain (see above); however, do
not connect the DMX input of the first unit
in the chain .
6 Power Supply
To supply the unit with power, connect the
mains cable provided to the mains input
jack (7) and then to a socket (230 V~/ 50 Hz) .
When multiple WASH-100RGBW are used,
the mains output jack POWER OUT (6) of the
first unit can be connected to the mains input
jack (7) of the second unit . For this, a mains
cable with a 3-pin IEC plug and a 3-pin IEC
inline jack is required (e . g . cable AAC-170 / SW
from MONACOR) . The second unit can then
be connected to the third unit etc . until all
units are connected in a chain . Thus, it is pos-
sible to connect up to 25 WASH-100RGBW .
The jack POWER OUT can also be used
to provide power to other (light effect) units .
However, to reduce the risk of short-circuit
and fire due to overload, the current in the
mains jacks (6, 7) and the mains cables must
not exceed 10 A . The fuse (8) will not protect
these jacks .
7 Operation
WARNING To prevent damage to your
eyes, never look directly into
the light source for any length
of time .
Please note that stroboscope
effects and fast changes in light-
ing may trigger epileptic seizures
with photosensitive persons or
persons with epilepsy!
To switch the unit on and off, use the POWER
switch (3) . After the unit has been switched
on, it can be operated via a DMX light con-
troller (
chapter 7 .1) or will run the show

program set (
chapter 7 .2) . In addition to

the operating mode, the display (2) will also
indicate the temperature inside the unit .
The unit is set by means of a menu: please
refer to chapter 7 .3 .
7.1 Operation with a
DMX controller
As soon as the unit receives a DMX signal, it
will switch to the DMX mode (start address
will be indicated on the display) . Use the
menu item

start address, and use the menu item
to set the number of channels .

Additional functions can be set via the menu,
if required .
All DMX functions can be found in
chapter 9 .
7.2 Operation without a
DMX controller
When the unit does not receive any DMX
signal, a show program will run . For this, the
unit must have been defined as a master unit
via the menu item

The menu structure can be found on page 2 .
When no button is pressed, the menu will
be automatically exited after 10 seconds

Detailed information with regard to the 13
menu items of the highest menu level can be
found in the following chapters .
7.3.1
DMX Address
DMX start address
For separate control of all DMX units, each
unit requires a start address of its own . Exam-
ple: If the first DMX channel of the unit is to
be controlled by the light controller via DMX
address 17, set the start address on the unit
to 17 . The other DMX channels of the unit
will then be automatically assigned to the
subsequent addresses .
Example: In the 9-channel mode and with the start
address 17, the channels 1 to 9 will be assigned to
the addresses 17 to 25 . The address 26 will then
be the next possible start address available for the
subsequent DMX-controlled unit .
1) Use the button ENTER to call up the menu
