CANBUS
MODE 4 includes two additional pages:
-
Communication status of the bus. There are three possible indications:
•
•
•
The second row shows the communication error counters . If the cause of the malfunction has
been removed, this page makes it possible to force exit from the BUS-OFF mode by holding down
the
-
Motor diagnostic codes, according to the SAE J1939 standard or MTU specifications. In the case
of the J1939 standard, when a signal is present the SPN and FMI fault's codes, the number of
occurrences (OC), a specific diagnostic code of the family of engines (DTC), and an explanatory
text are displayed. For MTU engines the SPN, FMI and OC are not shown, but the DTC code and
an alphanumeric description are always displayed.
The engine diagnostic codes are stored (even if the engine removes them) until the yellow/red indicator
light warning from CANbus is acknowledged.
The DTC page is forced when the signal corresponding to a yellow or red light from CANbus is
activated; moreover, if a fault occurs, the DTC page can be accessed directly from the alarms page by
holding down the VIEW pushbutton for one second, to view the error code signaled by the engine
controller.

Differential protection
The triggering current for differential protection of the device can be set by accessing the programming
mode as described in section 3 and changing the setting of the AUXILIARY CURRENT parameter. The
parameter can be set in the range from 1A to 40A. The 40A setting will disable the protection.
Note: Differential protection is a device protection, IT IS NOT AN AUTOMATIC CUT-
OUT AND THEREFORE CANNOT BE USED TO PROTECT PEOPLE.
9.
Heating unit
These instructions refer to devices equipped with immersion heating units. It is possible to set the
ON/OFF switching temperatures of the heating unit by means of the DST4400 card by accessing the
programming mode as described in section 3 and changing the setting of the PREHEATING
parameter. If the OFF switching temperature is set lower or equal to the ON switching temperature, the
heating unit is disabled.
