4.7. GUARDS

Guards on the machine on which the clamping device is mounted must be checked for effective-
ness each time it is used. Secure the machine against being switched on again accidentally. Check
that the clamping device is correctly mounted.
 Remove guards only after the machine has come to a complete stop.
 If there is a hazardous situation or an accident, press the EMERGENCY STOP.
 The EMERGENCY STOP on the machine must be activated during all cleaning, maintenance and
en
repair operations.

4.8. TRANSPORT

Handle the centring vice so that it is not subjected to shocks. Use appropriately sized means of
transport.
WARNING
Suspended loads
During lifting and transport of the clamping device there is a risk of accidents which may be fatal
or cause crush injuries due to components or items of equipment falling or swinging uncontrol-
lably.
» When items are being lifted, transported and put down, do not walk under or reach under sus-
pended loads.
» Check that lifting gear is securely attached. Do not attach lifting gear to projecting compon-
ents.
» Use only approved hoists and lifting gear rated for a sufficient safe working load.
» Transport work may be performed only by persons who have been instructed in the safety as-
pects of hoists and transport work.
