Use for the intended purpose

1.6.1

General information

The clamping system is intended exclusively for clamping workpieces.
The clamping system can be mounted on various machines which are designed exclusively for milling.
The clamping system may be used only when all the safety devices on the machine on which the clamping
system is installed are fully operational.
All other uses, or uses that exceed this, are considered to be uses for which the system is not intended, and
are prohibited.
Use for the intended purpose requires also compliance with the specified servicing instructions and the
use of the recommended auxiliary materials and consumables.

Milling/turning centres

Use of the clamping system in conjunction with milling/turning technology is prohibited.

Use of improper purposes / foreseeable misuse

„ Mounting of products not in accordance with the specification.
„ Operation of the clamping system in an explosive atmosphere.

Safety

2.1

Organisational measures

The necessary personal protective equipment must be provided by the operating company.
The clamping system must be installed so that adequate lighting is ensured.
2.1.1

Guards and safety devices

Before each occasion when the clamping system is used, all guards and safety devices on the machine in
which the clamping system is installed must be correctly fitted and in good working order.
Guards and safety devices must be removed only
„ when the machine is at a standstill.
„ Protection must be provided against restarting the machine on which the clamping system is installed

for instance a padlock on the main switch.
2.1.2

Informal safety measures

A supplement to the instruction manual must be provided, listing the generally applicable and local regu-
lations for accident prevention and environmental protection to be observed.
All safety notices and hazard warnings on the clamping system must be maintained in a legible state and
replaced as necessary.
