ble of capturing small fragments of
abrasive material or workpiece. Eye
protection must be capable of capturing
fragment impact created during various
work activities. Dust mask or respirator
must be capable of fi ltering off particles
created during your work. Long-term
exposure to noise of high intensity may
cause hearing loss.
i) Keep bystanders in safe distance from
the working space. Everybody enter-
ing the working space must wear per-
sonal protective aids. Any fragments of
the workpiece or of damaged accessories
may fl y off and cause injury even out of
the proximate working space.
j) During work, when the cutting tool can
touch hidden circuit or its own mobile
service line, hold the tool only at the
points of insulated gripping surface.
When in contact with "living" conductor,
the cutting tool may make the accessible
metal parts of the tool "living", thus caus-
ing injury of the user by electric current.
k) Place the mobile service line out of the
reach of the rotating tool. If you loose
control, the mobile supply can get cut
cross or reground and your hand or arm
may be pulled inside the rotating tool.
l) Never lay any electromechanical
tools until the tool stops. Rotating tool
can get captured by the surface and pull
the tool up off your control.
m) Never turn the electromechanical
tool on your side during handling.
Accidental contact with the rotating tool
may lock your clothes and draw the tool
up to your body.
n) Clean the vent holes of the tool regu-
larly. The engine fan draws dust inside
the cabinet and excessive accumulation of
metal dust may cause electric hazard.
o) Do not work with electromechanical
tool near fl ammable materials. It may
cause ignition of these materials due to
sparks.
p) Do not use accessories that require
cooling with fl uid. Use of water or any
other cooling fl uids may cause injury or
death due to electric current.

Kickback and related warning
Kickback is accidental reaction to gripping or
jamming of rotating disk, supporting plate,
brush or any other instrument. Gripping or
jamming may cause pull-up of the rotating
tool which subsequently causes motion of
the out-of-control instrument in the direc-
tion opposite to rotating of the tool at the
jamming point.
For instance: if the grinding disk gets gripped
or jammed in the workpiece, the edge of
the disk that comes into the gripping point,
may penetrate into the material surface and
cause that the disk is pushed back upwards
or thrown off. The disk may either spring out
towards the user, or from the user, depend-
ing on the direction of the disk motion at
the jamming point. In these cases grinding
disks may also crack.
Kickback is result of incorrect use of the
electromechanical instrument and/or me-
chanical tool and/or improper working pro-
cedures or conditions, any can be avoided
by correct adhering to the below described
safety precautions.
a) Hold the tool fi rm and keep the cor-
rect position of your body and arm,
so that you were able to resist the
kickback forces. Always use second-
ary handle, if provided with the in-
strument, for maximum control over
the kickback or reaction torque at
the time of activation. User is able to
control the reaction torques and kickback
forces, provided that he/she follows rel-
evant safety precautions.
b) Never move your hand close to the
rotating instrument. By kickback, the
instrument may fl ing your hand away.
c) Do not stand in the space where the
instrument may get into in case of
kickback. Kickback fl ings the instrument
away in the direction opposite to the disk
motion at the jamming point.
d) Pay special attention to machining
the edges, sharp angles, etc. Avoid
skipping and jamming of the instru-
ment. Angles, sharp edges or skipping
may jam the rotating instrument, thus
causing loss of control over the instru-
ment, or kickback.
