Select "FM RADIO" or "AM RADIO" using the SOURCE
button.
o You can also select "FM RADIO" or "AM RADIO" by pressing the
TUNER button on the remote control unit once or twice.

Select the station you want to listen to.
Auto selection
Hold down
Hold down the TUNING (m/,) button for more than
1 seconds. The unit starts searching for a station.
When a station is tuned in, the tuning process will stop
automatically.
Repeat this step until the station you want to listen to is found.
o If you want to stop the tuning process, press the TUNING button
briefly.

Manual selection

Press the TUNING (m/,) button.
The frequency changes by a fixed step.
Press repeatedly until the station you want to listen to is found.
If the reception is poor
For the best reception, rotate the FM antenna or AM antenna until
you get stations clearly.

Listening to the Radio

RDS (Display Setting of the FM)
The Radio Data System (RDS) is a broadcasting service which allows
stations to send additional information along with the regular radio
programme signal.

Tune in to an FM RDS station (see left).

Press the RDS button.
Each time the RDS button is pressed, the RDS mode is changed
as follows:
o You can also use the DISPLAY button on the remote control unit
to change the RDS mode.
FM MODE
When the source is "FM RADIO", pressing the FM MODE button
alternates between the Auto (Stereo) mode and Mono mode.
Auto Mode
"AUTO MODE" appears on the display.
FM stereo broadcasts are received in stereo.
Mono Mode
To compensate for weak FM stereo reception, select this mode.
"MONO MODE" appears on the display.
Reception will now be forced to monaural, reducing unwanted noise.
PS (Programme Service name)
Automatically displays the FM station name when
PS data is received.
PROG TYPE (Programme Type)
Displays the programme type. If there is no PTY
data, "NO PTY" will be displayed.
RDS CLOCK (RDS Clock)
Displays the information about times provided from
the station.
If there is no time data, "NO CT" will be displayed.
RT (Radio Text)
Displays the information, such as a station slogan,
the programme title or details of a music track
being played.
If there is no RT data, "NO RT" will be displayed.
