This chapter describes the basic operations that are available in every
sound source.

Press the STANDBY/ON button to turn the unit on.
o The unit turns on with the source that was last selected.
o You can also use the SOURCE button (or the TUNER, DISC, iPod/
USB or AUX button on the remote control unit) to turn the unit
on.

Press the SOURCE button to select a source.
Each time the SOURCE button is pressed, the source changes as
follows:
CD
FM RADIO
AM RADIO
USB
iPod
AUX1
AUX2
The selected source is shown on the display.
o You can also select "FM RADIO" or "AM RADIO" by pressing the
TUNER button on the remote control unit once or twice.
o You can also select "iPod" or "USB" by pressing the USB/iPod
button on the remote control unit once or twice.

o To listen to an external source connected to the AUX IN jack,
select "AUX1" or "AUX2".
o You can also select "AUX1" or "AUX2" by pressing the AUX button
on the remote control unit once or twice.

Play the source, and adjust the volume using the VOLUME
knob.
o You can hold down the VOLUME ( + / – ) buttons on the remote
control unit to reduce or bring up the volume continuously.
Dimmer
You can change the front panel's display brightness.
Press the DIMMER button to change the brightness between
2 levels.
Muting
You can mute the sound temporarily.
Press the MUTING button.
Press the MUTING button again to restore the sound.
o "MUTING" blinks on the display while muting is engaged.
o If you change the volume or source when the sound is muted,
muting is cancelled.
