Modular compact sand filters
Operation
The system employed is one of the most dependable found in the market and
obtains the best filtration quality, following procedures found in nature. The elements
are usually supplied disassembled to make transport easier, thus needing assembly at
the working location.
1.- Install the inlet/outlet collectors, mount the flanges with their gaskets and tighten
them diagonally. Connect the draining tubes (not supplied) and point them towards an
adequate draining place, checking there's enough volume to take the flow. Connect
the inlet/outlet swam nozzles (not supplied).
2.- Connect the pressure signal microtubes to the control board sensors. Connect the
station's output to the solenoids, using their bases.
3.- Open the superior inspection registers of the sand filters, and fill them halfway with
water. Pour the filtering material (volcanic sand, silica, or others) slowly, to avoid breaking the retention elements. Pour
the minimal quantity of filtering element needed, ad indicated on the quality control label and on this material.
4.- Before powering up, read the manual to find the control board model used. The differential pressure range
recommended goes from 0,5 to 0,8 Kg/cm².
5.- Check the bolts are tight and increase
the pressure slowly, checking for leaks. The
drain conduit leak ceases when the pressu-
EN
re reaches 1 Kg/cm².
6.- Execute several consecutive cleansings
to eliminate impurities or filtering element
residues.
7.- Run the system at the adequate pressu-
re and flow and check that the pressure
loss is the one on the chart.
8.- Recommended time regulation:
A cleaning each 24 hours.
With 2" and 3" valves between 1 and 3
min.
With 4" valves between 2 and 4 min.
With double valve of 3" and 4"consult.
9.- The renovation period for the filtering
element will vary, depending on the nature
of the contaminant. Let always some water
on the filter interior to avoid the formation
of hard deposits which will impede the
correct working of the system.
10.- After a long lay off, check that the fil-
tering element is completely loose, by
hand, thru the upper register. If it is not,
change it, discharging it thru the lower
register. Wash with enough water and
never knock the insides; the interior plastics
elements will break.
11.- Should you have any doubt, please
consult your seller.
