7. Care and maintenance

CAUTION
Disconnect the supply cord plug from the power
outlet.
7.1 Care of the appliance
CAUTION
Keep the appliance, especially its grip surfaces,
clean and free from oil and grease. Do not use
cleaning agents which contain silicone.
The outer casing of the appliance is made from
impact-resistant plastic.
Never operate the appliance when the ventilation slots
are blocked. Clean the ventilation slots carefully using
a dry brush. Do not permit foreign objects to enter
the interior of the appliance. Clean the outside of the
appliance at regular intervals with a slightly damp
cloth. Do not use a spray, steam pressure cleaning

equipment or running water for cleaning. This may
negatively affect the electrical safety of the appliance.
7.2 Maintenance
WARNING
Repairs to electrical parts and replacement of the
supply cord may be carried out only by trained
electrical specialists.
Check all external parts of the appliance for damage
at regular intervals and check that all controls op-
erate faultlessly. Do not operate the appliance when
parts are damaged or when the controls do not func-
tion correctly. If necessary, the appliance should be
repaired by Hilti Service.
7.3 Checking the appliance after care and
maintenance
After carrying out care and maintenance work on the
appliance, check that all protective and safety devices
are fitted and that they function faultlessly.
The appliance is connected to the
electric supply and is ready for use.
The battery is too cold (<0°C) or too
hot (>50°C) and is thus not charging.
The charger switches automatically to
charging mode as soon as the battery
reaches the required temperature.
Charger malfunction. Unplug the
charger and then plug it in again. If
the LED still doesn't light, the ap-
pliance should be returned to a Hilti
Service Center for repair.
The battery is charging.
The battery is charged.
No battery is present in the charger
or the battery is malfunctioning. Re-
move the battery from the charger
and then reinsert it. If the LED still
doesn't light return the battery and
charger to a Hilti Service Center for
repair.
