3.3.5 Completing the calibration process

To complete the calibration process:
▷ Clamp the assembled blank holder 4 into the
machine.
▪ Check the connection mandrel of blank holder
4 and clean if required.
▪ Insert blank holder 4 via the mandrel to the
stop in the locating bore.
▪ Tighten the fastening screw with the torque
wrench.
▷ Mount the transparent splash guard to the
extraction opening and lock it in place with the
lever.
▷ Briefly press operation button [A].
The machine advances to the home position.
▷ In the Ceramill Motion software, click on the
Program successfully finished
The blank holder 4 is now calibrated for this
machine and can immediately be used for
machining Ceramill Ti form blanks.

Changing a calibration sleeve

The Ceramill blank holder for rotational milling is
designed such that the calibration sleeve can be
replaced and exchanged.
Exchanging the calibration sleeve is only
necessary in case of an error in the cali-
bration process. When exchanging the cal-
ibration sleeve, it is required to carry out
the calibration process once more.

▷ To remove the calibration sleeve [3] from the
tool holder [1], loosen and completely unscrew
both screws [4] using the size 3 Allen key.
▷ Pull off the calibration sleeve [3].
▷ Insert a new calibration sleeve with the
uncoated side onto the tool holder.

▷ Screw the calibration sleeve firmly to the tool
holder.

Both the calibration sleeve [3] as well as
the tool holder [1] have a total of four
holes.
▷ Screw the calibration sleeve to the tool
holder only via the horizontal holes [2].
The vertical holes of the tool holder are
used to affix the blank holder (see
chapter 3.3.4 on page 26).
The screws of the calibration sleeve are
shorter than those for the blank holder.
▷ Do not switch the screws or get them
mixed up.
