Installation
Risk of injury or damage due to uncontrolled rod movements!
If compressed air is connected while the cylinder is being installed, someone may be injured
or the system may be damaged.
Make sure that the relevant part of the system is depressurised while the cylinder is
being installed.
Make sure that the cylinder is completely installed before connecting compressed air.
Make sure that the compressed air supply cannot be reconnected, if the system has to be
left unattended during installation.
Watch out for suspended loads!
Where the unit is installed vertically, a suspended load may drop out of control if the
compressed air is shut off. This may result in injury.
Always secure the area under a suspended load to prevent people entering it.
Risk of heavy objects!
Some configurations of the GPC cylinder are very heavy. Lifting them incorrectly may cause
injury.
When lifting the cylinder, take steps to avoid damage or injury. Heavy cylinders must be
carried by two people or by one person with lifting aids.

Mounting cylinders

The GPC cylinder has 2 – 5 pair mounting holes for attachment to
the surface. See the following pages for hole and screw diameters
on different versions and piston sizes of the cylinder.
1. Place the cylinder on a firm, flat surface. If necessary, fit any
guide pins into their corresponding holes.
2. Attach the cylinder to the surface with suitable screws or bolts,
either from above or from below. For optimum load support,
use all mounting holes. At a minimum, use the first and last
pair of mounting holes.
3. Tighten the screws gradually to avoid strain. See table 4 for
tightening torque.
