TIP: Make sure the volume on the Kitchen Companion is set loud enough to hear your
incoming calls. See Message Playback tips below for setting the volume level.
MESSAGE PLAYBACK
The Kitchen Companion display lets you know when you have messages. To play
messages, press the play/stop button.
While a message is playing, you can do the following:
• Press the play/stop button to stop the message playback.
• Press and release the review button to restart the current message; continue to press and
press again the review button to go to previous messages.
• Press and release the skip button to go to the next message.
• Press the erase button to erase the playing message.
• Press the CID/VOL (+) or CID/VOL (-) buttons (up and down arrows) to adjust the speaker
volume. Please note that the volume level set will apply to call screening a well.
ANSWERING SYSTEM MEMORY FULL
When the memory is full, the system answers after 10 rings , and an " F " displays after the number
of messages, e.g. MSG 59F , on the right side of the Kitchen Companion display. You should erase
some of the messages so the answering machine can record new messages.
ERASING MESSAGES
Erase messages two ways: one message at a time with the erase button or you may delete all
messages with one long press of the erase button.
• To erase a message while its playing, press and release the erase button.
• To erase all messages, press and hold the erase button for 2 seconds until the unit beeps and
ERASE ALL MESSAGES? shows in the display. Press erase again to confirm, or press exit button
to cancel.
LEAVING A MEMO
Use the memo feature to leave a message.
1. Press and hold the memo button down until you finish the message.
2. Begin speaking after you hear the beep.
3. Release the memo button after you are finished.
REMOTE ACCESS
This section explains the remote access process for use with any touch-tone phone.
1. Dial the phone number for the answering machine.
2. After the answering system answers, press any numbered key on the touch-tone pad to bypass
the outgoing announcement, or wait until the announcement finishes.
3. Enter the security code after you hear the tone.
