Manual Cleaning Instructions
• Rinse the RPM with cool tap water and wipe all gross
visible contamination with a soft towel.
• Completely submerge and soak the RPM in a pH neutral enzymatic detergent
(prepared according to the manufacturer's instructions) for 55 - 60 seconds.
• Flush the air-line connection lumen
with detergent solution using a
10 ml syringe a minimum of 3
times or until no visible soil or
contaminants come out (figure 2).
• Manually clean the RPM with a
soft-bristled brush or equivalent.
Using a 0.419 inch diameter
brush, scrub the lumened areas
of the RPM for 55 - 60 seconds.
• Thoroughly rinse the RPM with purified water for 55 - 60 seconds.
• Visually inspect the RPM for cleanliness. If any visible
contamination remains, repeat these steps.
NOTE: The validation of this cleaning process was completed with
Steris® Prolystica 2X Concentrate Enzymatic Detergent.
Automatic Cleaning Instructions
• Flush the cooling air line connection lumen on both ends of the
RPM with water using a 10 ml syringe a minimum of 3 times or
until no visible soil or contaminants come out (figure 2).
• Remove the syringe prior to the
automated cleaning cycle.
• Rinse any debris off of the RPM
with cool water for a minimum
of one minute or until all loose
contaminants are removed (figure 3).
The temperature of the water should
not exceed 30° - 35° C.
• Scrub the device using
a damp towel and a soft-bristled brush with a 0.419 inch diameter for a
minimum of 1 minute. Pay particular attention to the lumened areas.
