1. Switch off the cylinder vacuum cleaner with the on/off switch (Fig. 12/1) and pull the plug from the mains
1
socket.
2. Keep the plug in your hand.
WARNING:
Danger of injury! During uncontrolled retraction the power cord can whip around, become an obstacle or
overthrow objects. Therefore keep the plug in your hand and guide it during retraction of the power cord.
3. Push the cord retracting button (Fig. 12/2) to retract the power cord.
It is recommended to retract the telescopic tube before transporting or storing the appliance.
Push the telescopic tube release catch (Fig. 1/4) down and simultaneously telescope the tube into its lower half
to do this.
To transport the cylinder vacuum cleaner, you can carry it by the carrying-handle (Fig. 13/A1).
When interrupting your work you can hook the parking-hook into the parking-bracket (Fig. 13/B).
For storing the appliance you can hook the storage hook onto the storage bracket (Fig. 13/A).
ATTENTION:
Never store the appliance next to heat sources (e.g. stoves or radiators). Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight.
Heat can damage the appliance.
For prolonged storage remove the dust filter bag Zchapter 3.5, „Changing the dust filter bag" and dispose
of it properly. Always store the appliance in a cool, dry place and keep it out of reach of children.
ATTENTION:
Switch off the appliance before changing the dust filter bag. This will prevent dust from damaging the
appliance.
Change the dust filter bag when the filter bag change indicator (Fig. 14/1) shows "red" and before prolonged
storage or shipping.
For hygienic reasons, change the dust filter bag at least once every three months.
1. Switch off the appliance and pull the plug from the mains socket, Zchapter 3.3, „Switching off".
2. Open the dust compartment cover by pressing its release catch (Fig. 14/3) and then lifting it up.
3. Lift the dust compartment cover until it locks in the highest position and remains open by itself.
NOTE:
If the dust compartment cover does not stay open by itself, it is recommended to first disconnect the suction
hose. To do this, push both release buttons (Fig. 14/2) and pull the hose out of its socket.
4. Pull the dust bag holder up and out together with the dust filter bag (Fig. 15) as shown.
NOTE:
Be careful when removing the dust filter bag so that no dust escapes.
5. Pull the full dust filter bag up and out of the dust filter holder (Fig. 16).
NOTE:
You can dispose of the contents of the dust filter bag with your normal domestic waste as long as it contains
no substances not allowed in domestic waste.
6. Push the new dust filter bag into the filter bag holder as shown until it is flush with the edge of the filter bag
holder (Fig. 16, arrows).
NOTE:
The dust compartment cover can only be closed if the dust filter bag is fitted correctly. The rocker on the dust
filter bag holder (Fig. 16/1) prevents closing of the dust compartment cover if the dust filter bag is not
correctly fitted.
7. Remove any dust that may have collected in the dust compartment.
8. Take this opportunity to check the motor protection filter as well. Clean it if necessary, Zchapter 4.3,
„Cleaning the motor protection filter".
9. Re-insert the filter bag holder with the new dust filter bag:
- First, set the filter bag holder into its guiderails (Fig. 17/arrows).
- Then push the dust filter bag holder all the way down.
10. Close the dust compartment cover. It clicks shut audibly.
