PRELIMINARY NOTES
1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Assembly, connection, commissioning and repair may only be carried out by a specia-
list. This specialist can determine the suitable mounting and exhaust air routing of the
cooker hood. The fastening must be suitable for the weight of the cooker hood and the
load on the substrate. Observe the pull-out values of the dowels supplied. In the case
of other unsafe substrates, a construction expert, e.g. a structural engineer or architect,
must be consulted to ensure safe installation of the cooker hood.
Risk of injury !
Sharp edges can occur during production extractor hood.
Wear protective gloves during installation.
Danger of electric shock !
The mains voltage must correspond to the information on the type plate. Only connect
the extractor hood to a properly installed socket outlet with earthing contact. The so-
cket must be easily accessible after installation so that the cooker hood can be dis-
connected from the mains voltage if necessary. If the appliance is permanently connec-
ted (e.g. if there is no socket), the cooker hood may only be connected to the mains
voltage by a qualified electrician. For permanent connection, the cooker hood must be
connected to a single circuit with a disconnecting device. Switches with a contact ope-
ning of at least 3 mm and all-pole switches, e.g. LS switches and contactors, are regar-
ded as disconnecting devices. Switch off the mains circuit(s) before working on the
electrical connection of the extractor hood. Before drilling fixing holes, check that no
electrical cables can be damaged by drilling. The electrical connection must be
prepared so that the cooker hood can easily be connected. Local regulations
must be observed.
Installation
The device may only be connected by authorised specialists in compliance with all
relevant regulations of the power supply companies as well as the building regulations
of the federal states. Observe the corresponding instructions during installation! Dama-
ge to the device must be reported immediately upon delivery. Damaged devices may
be installed. Defective parts must be replaced by original parts. Repairs may only be
carried out by authorised specialist personnel. The device must not be operated with
an external timer or an external telecontrol system.
Reliable and safe operation of the hob is only guaranteed if it is connected to the public
power supply.
The hob must not be connected to stand-alone inverters which are used for auto-
nomous power supply, e.g. solar power supply. When the hob is switched on, voltage
peaks can otherwise cause a safety shutdown. The electronics can be damaged. The
electrical safety of the hob is only guaranteed if it is connected to a properly installed
protective conductor system. This basic safety requirement must be met.
