IMPORTANT: The instruction manual you are holding includes essential information on the safety measures to be
implemented for installation and start-up. Therefore, the installer as well as the user must read the instructions before
beginning installation and start-up.
To achieve optimum performance of the Filter follow the instructions provided below:
1. CHECK THE CONTENTS OF THE BOX:
Inside the box you should find the following accessories (Fig. 1) :
1. The filter body (inside of which you should find the filter cartridge).
2. Threaded suction hose 1.25"
3. Threaded return hose 1.5"
2. GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS:
The Filter is used to suction and retain impurities in swimming pool water. It has been designed for use in fresh water
swimming pools. It is essential to place the pre-filter (no. 5).
The manufacturer is not responsible in any circumstances for assembly, installation or start-up any electric components
which have been inserted or handled at locations other than its own premises.
3. INSTALLATION:
Install the filter close to the pool, but at a distance of least 3.5 metres (for electrical safety reasons) and at a height not
greater than that of the pool (Fig. 2).
The hoses may be hidden by making two small trenches (10 cm. wide) at a distance of about 40 cm from the filter and the
same distance from the pool. It is important to remember never to bury the hoses, just place a cover over the trenches
(Fig.3).
CONNECTING THE PUMP
The pump should be disconnected through an all-pole switch located outside the site.
The filter should be connected through an overload protection device with a nominal current of l< 30mA.
The pump must be wired up to a 230 V~.
There may already be Swimming Pool pump Installation regulations to be adhered to. (ie. HD 384-7-702, IEC 364-7-702,
DIN VDE 0100 Part702).
4. ASSEMBLY:
Once the filter has been positioned, connect the suction and impulse hoses to the filter body and place Teflon tape around
the thread to ensure complete sealing (Fig. 4).
Place the pre-filter cone at the end of the suction hose. It must never be removed (Fig. 5).
Place the suction and impulse hoses in the swimming pool fastening them with the support so that the terminals submerge
inside the pool (Fig.6).
PRIMING THE PUMP
Important: never start the pump without water. The pump may be primed by following either of these two options :
a) Using a garden hose :
Open the air purge to allow the air to escape (Fig.7).
Remove the pre-filter strainer and take the suction hose out of the pool water.
Place the end of the garden hose inside the suction hose (Fig. 8), and turn on the tap to let the water through at half
pressure. Wait for the filter to fill with water until the air stops bubbling out of the purge and water starts flowing through
the return hose into the pool.
Before removing the garden hose put the suction hose back into the pool. Put the hose back between the connectors and
finally replace the air purge plug.
Place the pre-filter Cone without removing the hose from the water (Fig. 5).
Finally, connect the cartridge Filter to the power supply.
b) If you not have a garden hose follow these instructions :
Remove the filter lid and fill the filter body with water using a bucket (Fig. 9), Replace the lid.
Take hold of the suction hose and lower it to the ground until the water from inside the filter starts to come out (Fig.10).
Cover the end of the hose with your hand and lower the hose into the pool until it is totally submerged in the water. Replace
the hook to stop the hose from leaving the pool (Fig. 11). By following these instructions you will have successfully primed
the filter pump.
Now you can connect the filter up to the electric power supply.
Once the pump is working make sure that water is coming from the return hose by placing your hand in front of it. If you
find you cannot feel the water, disconnect the filter and re-prime the pump.
Place the pre-filter Cone without removing the hose from the water (Fig. 5).
Finally, connect the cartridge Filter to the power supply.
