Instructions for use
For TS 2, TS 3 and TS 4 gears:
– 3 842 519 001 – 009
– 3 842 519 114 – 120
1. Condition on delivery
The gears undergo a fi nal inspection and are tested in accordance with the order details before delivery. They are unpainted and
fi lled with Klübersynth GH-6 220 synthetic oil.
2. Transportation
On receipt please check immediately that no damage has occurred during transportation and that the delivered goods are
complete. Should you fi nd any damage, you must make a damage report in the presence of the carrier.
3. Connecting the motor and gear
1.
Remove the protective cap from the lantern and pull off the coupling,
2.
Check that the coupling and the splined shaft teeth on the gear shaft are well greased, and if they are not, regrease them.
Only use MICROLUBE GL 261 special grease, manufactured by Klüber Lubrication München KG.
3.
Push the coupling onto the motor shaft journal as far as it will go and secure it on the axis with the headless setscrew M4 x
5.
4.
Fit the motor with the coupling onto the coupling teeth of the gear and secure with hexagon screws. The motor must be
connected with the concentric, run-out and coaxial tolerances of the shaft end set as stated in DIN 42955 (concentric and
coaxial tolerance R, run-out tolerance N). If the tolerances specifi ed in this DIN directive are exceeded, damage may be
caused to the coupling and worm-gear teeth and the rolling bearing.
IMPORTANT:
To avoid damage to the tooth profi le, rolling bearing and retainer ring, never strike the coupling on the gear shaft or
motor shaft.
The driving torques and speeds given on the nameplate may on no account be exceeded.
4. Assembly
If the gear is fi rst to be put into storage, the storage area must be dry with a constant temperature. This prevents condensation
building up and rust forming. The gears are pushed directly onto the hexagon shaft (SW 27) of the driven machine. Please ensure
that the surface onto which the gear is fastened is at exactly the right angle to the axle, otherwise additional stress will be exerted
on the gear bearings and they may then need replacing sooner than usual.
Ensure when mounting the gear that there is suffi cient circulation of cooling air.
5. Safety precautions
The user is obliged by law to protect all revolving parts, so that nobody can come into contact with them accidentally.
6. Electrical connection
Electrical connection and maintenance of the electronic drive may only be carried out by qualifi ed electricians in line with the
relevant accident prevention and installation regulations. Suitable measures must be taken to prevent the electricity being turned
on accidentally while work is in progress on parts which are live during operation.
7. Maintenance
The gears are maintenance-free when run under the normal nominal operating conditions. The gears may only be opened with our
permission during the warranty period, otherwise all warranty become invalid.
8. Replacing the motor
If the motor is replaced, please ensure that the coupling and the gear drive shaft teeth are suffi ciently lubricated with Microlube
GL 261 coupling grease as mentioned above (approx. 3g).
