Correct use

The PRECISIO has been built to saw wood,
plastics, wooden boards and wood-like materials
as a transportable electric tool. If fitted with the
Festool saw blade 448 291 it can also be used to
saw aluminium. Only saw workpieces which can be
placed and guided safely on the unit.
Please refer to section 10. of these operating
instructions as regards dust emission. Do not work
with materials containing asbestos since special
requirements are placed on the dust extraction
system in such cases.
Any other use of the machine will be deemed as
inappropriate and is thus not allowed.

Safety instructions

Ÿ Please read all safety instructions carefully before
starting work.
Ÿ The operator must be instructed by a qualified
person before the machine is used for the first
time in industry.
Ÿ Check the firm fit of the saw blade and its perfect
running before starting work.
Ÿ Cracked saw blades or those which have altered
their shape should not be used.
Ÿ The use of saw blades made of high-alloy, high-
speed steel (HSS circular saw blades) is not
allowed.
Ÿ Saw blades may not be slowed down when the
tool is switched off by pressing against their sides.
Ÿ Round wood must be secured against twisting
on both sides of the saw blade during cutting.
Ÿ Use a feed device to cut firewood.
Ÿ Always disconnect the plug from the mains when
changing tools and remedying faults, e.g.
removing jammed splinters.
Ÿ Do not use tools with damaged cables.
Ÿ Only tools which comply with EN 847-1 may be
used.
Ÿ Replace any damaged table inlay (1.4) by a new
one (order no. 488 160).
Ÿ Clean the tool, and particularly the surface of the
filter (3.2), at regular intervals.
Ÿ Keep the guides of all moving parts clean.
Ÿ Use a sliding stick (6.1) so that the workpiece
does not have to be held close to the saw blade
by hand.
Ÿ If a second person is involved in work at the
PRECISIO to remove sawn workpieces, the
machine must have an extension table and the
second person may only stand at the removal end
of the extension table.
Ÿ Do not use the PRECISIO for butt cuts.
Ÿ Warning: The upper protective hood may not be
used as a carrying handle!
Ÿ Adjust the protective hood so that it rests on the
workpiece and clamp it in this position with the
knob (1.11).

3.1 Noise information

The noise measurements were carried out
according to the instructions in EN 61029.
The figures apply for operation as both an under-
table pulling-cut saw (section 5.1) and a bench-
mounted circular saw (section 5.2).
