WARNING:
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Use of any other parts could create a hazard or cause
product damage.
WARNING:
Always wear eye protection with side shields or goggles
marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could
result in fluids entering your eyes resulting in possible
serious injury.
WARNING:
To avoid serious personal injury, always remove the bat-
tery pack from the product when cleaning or performing
any maintenance.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use
clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, penetrating
oils, etc., come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals
can damage, weaken, or destroy plastic which may result
in serious personal injury.

CLEANING THE UNIT

See Figure 10, page 13.
WARNING:
Always store and dispose of chemicals properly. Disposal
of contaminated rinse water should be performed accord-
ing to local ordinances and bylaws.
When you've finished your project and are ready to store
the backpack unit, a thorough cleaning is recommended.
NOTE: Recommended cleaning solutions are warm water for
chemicals or latex-based products and Klean-Strip
Safer Paint Thinner for oil-based products. When finished,
properly discard all used cleaning solution.
 Place the motor switch in the reverse position and allow
to run for about 30 seconds. This will allow excess fluid
to be recirculated from the tubes and the spray wand
back into the tank.
NOTE: FIGURES (ILLUSTRATIONS) START ON PAGE 12
AFTER FRENCH AND SPANISH LANGUAGE SECTIONS.

MAINTENANCE

 Remove the battery pack from the backpack unit.
 Remove the lid from the tank.
 Open the tank latch and remove the tank from the backpack
unit.
 Return any unused fluid to its original container.
NOTE: Do not store stain, sealant, or chemicals in the tank.
 Fill the tank with lukewarm water (following the use of
chemicals or latex products) or Klean-Strip
Paint Thinner (following the use of oil-based products).
 Reinstall the tank and latch to secure. Replace the lid.
Make sure the intake tube and filter are pushed down to
the bottom of the tank.
 Install the battery pack in the backpack unit.
 Spray the solution onto a piece of cardboard or other
scrap material. Continue spraying until all the solution is
used.
 It may be necessary to rinse the tank more than once. If
so, refill with clean water and repeat the procedure above
until tank and spray wand are clean.
 Allow all pieces to completely dry before reinstalling parts
and storing the unit.

CLEANING THE NOZZLE

See Figure 11, page 13.
If the nozzle becomes plugged, use the steps below to clear.
 Turn off sprayer and remove the battery pack.
 Unscrew and remove the nozzle from the spray wand.
 Push a small wire through the cross holes to clear any
debris. If necessary, rinse the cross holes and nozzle with
clean water.
 Wipe the nozzle and cross holes with a clean dry cloth
and reinstall the nozzle.
