7.3 Changing filters

The life of the filter cartridges depends on the type and amount of deposited
particles. A pre-filter mat is installed to optimise the service life of the main filter and
to protect it against coarse particles. We recommend that the pre-filter mat is
changed regularly, depending on the workload, for example daily or weekly, and we
do not recommend that you wait until it is completely blocked.
As the dust accumulation in the filter increases, its resistance to through-flow
increases and the suction decreases. Now, a change of filter is required. In most cases
it is sufficient to replace the pre-filter mat. The main filter normally only needs
replacing after the pre-filter mat has been replaced several times.
NOTE
The signal horn sounds if the volume flow falls below the flow rate minimum.
Please also refer to the information contained in the "Changing Filters" chapter for
this product version.
WARNING
Cleaning the filter cartridges is not permitted. This inevitably leads to damage to
the filter medium, meaning the filter ceases to function and hazardous substances
enter the breathing air.
During the work described in the following section, pay particular attention to the
seal on the main filter. Only an undamaged seal allows the product to achieve a
high separation rate. Main filters with a damaged seal must therefore be replaced
every time.
INFORMATION
Please also refer to the "Installation" and "Use" chapters for the following stages.
Please use only original replacement filters, because only they guarantee the
necessary separation rate and are matched to the product and its performance
characteristics. Switch the product off at the switch.
Prevent unintentional restarting by disconnecting the mains plug.
